sadly thats not the way things go these days. too many people care about the glitz, and this drips down to developers who feel they need to spend more time polishing visuals rather than gameplay.

The games are yet to come out anyway, and from what has been shown is hardly anything groundbreaking. Even stuff like Heavy Rains advanced story telling was done to quite an extent in Fahrenheit, and the other is a pretty linear shooter...Its nothing that pushes the hyped hardware of the console in mind blowing directions as originally promised....

Killzone 2 is mindblowing the destruction, graphics, animations, lighting all look amazing.

It looks good, but it looks like something that can be done under the hardware constraints. Nothing that blows me away with the capabilities of the machine at all.

Besides its completely irrelevant to my first post mentioning what was said about MGS4 and Halo 3 prior to release.

Try doing that on a PC with 256MB of RAM. Its never going to happen. Consoles > PC.

Kojima is pretty impossible to satisfy hardware wise since he wants something that could turn his imagination into a playable game.

PS3 is still the most capable console out there, so I really don't see the point in this. You find news on PS3 limitations... wouldn't that mean worse for 360 then?

As far as MGS4 goes, IGN has a comparison with the '05 footage and the final product... there obviously was an improvement. MGS4 is an ambitious game, and I'm sure devs wanted to go beyond what the final product turned out to be. That's why we ended up with an incredible game.

Are there people that don't like HALO 3 that are reputable, yes. SoulCali 4? Yes. GTA4, Oblivion...? Yes. The point is don't blindly hate something without checking out the source of the negative comments.

No one will ever say that those games are horrible, because they aren't. They may say that it wasn't for them, but not that they are horrible.

whats sad is the people that keep saying but it got a 10 here! you guys need to learn gamespot is no longer considered a reliable or even good review site in the industry any more and though this maybe gamespot that doesn't make its scores the end all be all, which is why i use gamerankings, and metacritic and both say mgs 4 is not a 10.
