That's why i didn't just mention the poll.
I'm mentioning the tons of articles, relates and surveys that were made since the console's release.
Not one of those was ever proven to be wrong.

More polls? Automatic fail.
EB Games and Best Buy: "360's Failure rate around 33%"
The funny thing is that it's and article from 2007, and by that time the Wii and PS3's failure rate was still around 1%. Things have changed uh?
Xbox 360 Failure Rate: 30% says retailers
Those were really easy to find and are not polls. You can find lots of other articles with evidences that the defect ratio is really high, beyond any other system.
Can you still counter these solely with your faith?
~33% sounds about right. MS set aside $1.2billion for RROD repairs and according to the August issue of Game Informer "the problem has exceeded the $1 billion mark and is showing no signs of slowing.". MS charges ~$100 for a RROD repair, assuming MS is being generous and is repairing at cost $1.2billion buys 12 million RROD repairs, 40% of the total 360s sold (allowing a certain percentage of overlap for multiple RRODs per customer).
