[QUOTE="Soulja_West"] Yes it is. If its an different game then it is an exclusive. Get over it.darkslider99You're the one with the problem here bud, the rest of us just don't sit back whilst someone makes moronic remarks. But I've had enough of your trolling, becaue if you're not simply trolling, and actuallt believe what you are saying and that you've built a strong arugment, you're a complete idiot. I'm not the only one saying this sport. I thought I share that with you :)
Already have. And it's not an exclusive -- they stated the following differences: different controls (with difficulty involved within those controls), better technical aspects of the game, and additional content. The core substance of the game itself has not been changed between the PS2 version and the PS3 version, it's still a MLB the Show title. Different controls, added content, better sound and visuals does not dictate a game's exclusivity... otherwise Ninja Gaiden Sigma would be exclusive. And it's most certainly NOT.[QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"][QUOTE="Soulja_West"]Go read the IGN review then get back at me.Kahuna_1
lol its baseball...no way to change that...unless it motion controlled baseball, which it isnt.
I havent played MLB 09 , but here is what I think would have to be different in order to count them as different games:
Different team roster. In most sports games, the team rosters are all that separate one game from the next, so this would be exclusive worthy difference.
Different SIGNIFICANT game modes. So lets say one version has a create a character and take them to the top mode, and another doesnt...thats a significant enough difference for exclusivity
Online. This one depends. If its just the same game, but now you can play with other players, then no. But lets say there is a whole new intricate online game mode that recreates the World Series, keeping everyone's team stats and everything and you have to enter your own unique team and its all on the game website and its really well done, well thats significant enough.
Gameplay mechanics. For sports games this is a harder one, but lets say they were to cut out some important gameplay aspects from the PS3 version to the others. Lets say there is a coach aspect where you can train your players and what not, and maybe each player has individual stats which you have to train and maintain but the other version dont...thats a big enough difference.
"Exclusive" means one platform.
A game on three platforms, two of which are basically the same game, only with different scale of visuals, are not exclusive.
Only when a significant change to the gameplay or overall styIe of the game takes place and the one game in no way resembles the one it shares a name with (i.e. Dead Rising: CTYD or the Wii Dead Space) it can be deemed an exclusive title.
MLB 09 is as far from an exclusive title as you can come. Just because it is on all Sony platforms does not make it exclusive. A game that is truly "exclusive" is a game that provides a unique experience that is only available on one singular platform. Like Kameo: Elements of Power on 360 or Metal Gear Solid 4 on PS3.foxhound_fox

[QUOTE="Soulja_West"] IGN says the PS2 version and PS3 version are different. Its an exclusive. END OF DISCUSSION.

How much of a difference is there?
Go read the review and find out.
Read the review, still not exclusive.
Why because it has one different mission? and a FPS aspect?Animal-MotherWOW. It's incredibly obvious you have no idea what you're talking about. Oh brother, are you frickin' kidding me? I mean, come on! The game has an entirely different gameplay design, level design, plotline, multiplayer, visuals, sound, content wise, every single thing on the frickin' board is different -- the only thing they share is the same name. End of story. Comparing this to GRAW is incredibly laughable. This is just getting repetitive. :?
Dude, GRAW on 360 is different from the other versions.Ok Im gonna say it like this, The lemmings didnt care before the game even came out if it was exclusive or not. Now that the PS3 has caught up their running scared to find excuses. But If this game is NOT exclusive. that emans Graw is no longer exclusive along with MGS4 and Dead Space

same here..but it's going to be ignored in this thread.Oh I guess all GFW games are exclusive now.......
This logic is stupid. Especially when MLB 08 wasn't even considered beforehand.
Not exclusive. Get over it.
Can someone fill me in on what has happened since page 4?no_handlebarsIn a nut shell! Fanboys turned to typical fanboy arguments calling it a "Sony Exclusive", completely disregarding the fact it's on multiple platforms, and they've been frivolously defending it ever since.
[QUOTE="Chaos_HL21"][QUOTE="Soulja_West"]
We are on Gamespot, only Gamespot matters. If you want to take IGN's word over anyone here. Here is a place to do it at.
[QUOTE="Eddie-Vedder"] Would you mind pointing us to the Gamespot PS2 review?Eddie-Vedder
So what does that have to do about anything? Gamespot is slow at reviewing games, and just because they did not review the PS2 one does not make it a PS3 exclusive.
Are you joking? Someone showed you IGN proving that the PS3 and PS2 version are not the same, you say "I though we were on Gamespot" GS didn't review the PS2 game! How else are we going to see if the are the same game?IGN also gave Halo Wars a 8.4. But the cows only used Gamespot, so why should we go to IGN for this. If you want to use IGN I posted a link to their boards. Go there and have fun. It may be a different game but how much different is the question, Nobody is saying it is the same game. But they are saying that the things that made the games different is not enought for it to be exclusive.

Its exclusive sorry. crying want make it none exclusive.Soulja_West
Why would I be crying?
I am a hermit but I also own a PS3 and 360...
I am just take this logically and looking at the facts.
FACT:
The gameplay of the two versions is the same
FACT:
MLB 08: The Show has spent a whole year being considered multiplatform with no argument from cows despite being in the EXACT SAME SITUATION as MLB 09: The Show. Same game, different tech...
FACT:
MLB 09: The Show is not exclusive.

Again we are not on IGN. Saying that IGN said it is exclusive does not mean anything here. IGN also gave Halo Wars a 8.4. Yet the cows said only Gamespot, and that the only one who matters. Or is it just when it gave the 360 a bad score?
Its an exclusive. I'm not the only one saying this. They ARE NOT the same according to IGN. Thankyou and have a wonderful day :)Soulja_West
Where does IGN say they are not the same?
IGN says the PS3 version is better, but that doesn't make it different.
The CORE GAME is the same between the two.
coming directly from someone who has played both. The only major differences are technical in my experience with them. Slight changes elsewhere don't warrant calling it a different game.
And I fail to see where in the IGN review you get the idea that they are different games?

im going to call this one exclusive. why? bcuz we dont use ps2 and psp in our AAAE debates. it should be considered AAAE, until we start using the ps2 in our debates again. if we did use ps2, then 360 wouldnt lead the charge anymore..amirite?Furbyballistik

have you played the PS2 and PS3 versions of the game?
I have.
They control the same, have the same game modes, have the same commentary, and in general play the same.
Differences are technical differences. PS2 version has bugs, dated graphics, AI issues, and collision detection problems.
But the core game is the exact same.
So your argument is unfounded. Because they are basically the same experience. Beyond technical problems that is...
