Still can't get over how awesome Stryker looks.......wonder why they kept Baraka and Shang Tsung hidden for so long?

Same reason they kept Raiden, Kabal, Smoke, etc. hidden... build up hype for the game.

Too right man but thank god I have games I am interested in before MK which will hopefully make the wait easier. But seriously that 'End Demo' vid just makes me want to have the game in my hands now :cry:

that end video was pretty cool, wasn't expecting Living forest to get its own stage fatality! Also i sorta wished they kept Shang Tsung in his old man appearance, i recall in a level we seen in a video you can see him sitting in a throne in old man appearance.

Alt costume hopefully =P

Damn. I just played this **** for about 9 hrs straight lol. If this demo is any indication then this will be the best MK yet, easily. It was odd at first as I've been playing a lot of UMK3 lately. It felt slow, but once you start getting into the flow of things the pace is really nice. Scorpion has some broken combo set ups with the teleport, but they arent just easy to spam the hell out of or anything like that. Sub Zero can do some borderline cheap stuff with the ice clone similar to the first release of MK 3 for those that remember. One cool thing about Sub is that he is still able to use his other special moves even when an ice clone is still in play. The ice clones last a long time.... even longer if you use a special bar. All in all the available characters seem pretty balanced and are all fun to play with. Johny Cage is the easiest of the bunch to pick up and play, followed by Mileena. Sub Zero is probably the most difficult of the four to put together crazy combos with. No strict frame times on any of the moves, its just as easy as you would expect MK to be. The skill ceiling will be relatively low for this game, but its still a blast to play. The Xray moves are far too easy to pull off (just press L2 and R2 at the same time) and they also do a bit too much damage. They seem great at first, but after a while its just "meh". Puts a tarnish on what seems to be a pretty well made battle system imo. The ability to do more powerful versions of your special moves adds a nice extra layer of depth. Its especially noticeable when using Mileena. I could ramble on but I need to get some sleep lol. I'd say this game could snag a 9.0 here and I will be shocked if its less than 8.5. Its no SSF4 by any means, but if you've been waiting for a proper MK game this is the one. I'm sold, day one. sandbox3d

I only own SFIV not SSFIV, but this game SEEMS (I don't have PSN plus) better and like it has more to it than SFIV. That might be completely different though when comparing to SSFIV IDK.

Heh yeah, Shang never seem to be able to keep an appearance does he? :P He changed in MKII, then again in MKIII then in deadly alliance up to deception to then change AGAIN in armageddon and then changing in this new MK.

Raiden looks like the least altered character, costume looks nearly identical to his original. Not a bad thing. Hope more reveals come in the weeks ahead...

I stopped caring about MK since Deadly Alliance, because it was not the MK I loved. But this game bringss my old love back! MK1-MK2-UMK3 hell, even MK4 (at least the arcade version) were all awesome and I am glad the new MK lives up to it's legacy. I am so sick of japanese fighting games. Go, MK!

My goal when I purchase MK9 is to master the hell out of Sub zero and own as many Scorpion players as I possibly can. Im kinda upset how he has been given most of the limelight, well not that exactly that it's just when Scorpion is made to look good it's always at the expense of Sub-zero, from the demo start up screen to the special edition figure. You Scorpion players are going to pay for Ed Boon's mistake 8)
