Haven't played Ultima, but The Witcher for sure. People here hype it up so much when it does so many things terribly. I didn't even find it enjoyable the majority of the time.

After the masterpiece that was Demons Souls, Dark Souls let me down. Hard. Wasn't half the game that Demons was. I hope they go back to what made Demons so good instead of limiting how many spells you can cast, etc...
I'm gonna go with.... South Park the RPG.... since anything less than a freakin blow out LMAO outta this freakin world funnny and engaging RPG game thats worthy of the AAA then me be disappoint. :P
Serially, I dunno, perhaps Skyrim  since it felt like never before that I've already been there, done that in 2006 with Oblivion. :?
Any Zelda game, you take your pick. I have 5 Zelda games in my house and all sucked to the point I couldn't bring myself to finish them. I never have understood the love for the series. The games are so damn boring. Wind Walker takes top prize for crappiest Zelda game in my book.AmazonTreeBoaIf you could never understand the a Peal, why did you keep buying them?
Easily. "yay there's a sequel to dragon age!" "What? It's not even the same character..? It's not a true sequel, just a side-story happening during DAO that no one cares about..? The combat and visuals are even worse than the first..?" "****"Dragon Age 2

Resonance of Fate is the only RPG I stopped playing after less than an hour and go a refund. The combat was unncecessarily complicated, and I didn't have the will to perservere.

I had the same problem too, except I kept trying to get into it for several hours, I got stuck at a boss and I still hadn't figured out the stupid combat system. There was no story, no character development and I just flat out lost interest.

I'm talking about The Witcher, not Witcher 2. I refuse to pay more than $5 for The Witcher 2 because of how bad I thought the first one was.For me it would have to be either The Witcher or The Witcher 2.
I simply cannot find the appeal in these games. I paid full price, frothing at the mouth to finally dive into these games and get engrossed in the world and characters and..
it never happened.

Your blood must have turned to dust, and your soul a mere echo if the Witcher 2 disappointed in any way :|
Anyway I'm gonna have to go with Dragon Age 2. I loved DAO despite the ass-trocious graphics. DA2 suffered the EA infection of being rushed and under developed. especially with those recycled environments and cheap transition screens. Lets hope they learned their lesson with DA3 and give Bioware the proper development schedule to produce a finished product.
texasgoldrush. For once, I can certainly say with conviction, that you're right on the money. Loadsemoney. And indeed that SpoonyExperiment Ultima series and IX was fantastic, the end of the IX video - the story about his brother - was pretty damn gut wrenching. Good post man.skrat_01
Yeah, he got it right on the mark. Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 2 may be bad as RPGs, but they are good games, more so applied to ME2. Though i hear DA2 with all the DLC is great aswell.
Ultima 9 is a attrocious game all around. A actual insult, with no exageration, towards the fans. A broken mess of a 'game' with a broken story.

Fable 2 and 3

3 I can agree with, but I loved 2.

I agree mostly, though I honestly don't think I can call DA2 a good game. It's not bad, just to me a solid example of everything that can go wrong when smart people make bad decisions developing a game; generally I think it's pretty mediocre. Tons of games worse than it out there though, not bad by any stretch of the imagination (even if there are some terrible things in it). Honestly I think ME2 is actually really good, I'm surprised it cops so much flack. It's not the glorious sequel that does everything better than the first, but it sure as hell was tons more focused and tighter. I'm still baffled Ultima 9 actually hit shelves in its current state, when you consider how atrocious it is Bioware fans out crying over Mass Effect 3's ending or DA2's gross changes seems like something utterly trivial compared to that mess of a game.[QUOTE="Lucianu"][QUOTE="skrat_01"]texasgoldrush. But friends of mine, that agreed with me on this vanilla version, told me that the game is actually good with all that downloadable content added. I haven't checked myself because i'm really burned out on Bioware games.. But it's curious to me anyhow.
The Fable games which turned out to not even be RPG's, but an A button combat system and a farting option. Did I mention the gay marriages?

Final Fantasy X. The story fell apart at the end. There are probably more disappointing games out there, but that one really sticks out to me.
At this point in time I'd like to lean towards Mass Effect 2. It put me off from the whole series. I could play 3, but I hated 2 so much that I want nothing to do with 3.
If not Mass Effect 2 than Fallout 3.
The mechanics in FO3 are fine, but it's everything surrounding those mechanics that let me down. Thankfully, Obsidian redeemed the series with New Vegas.

You can run like a leopard, but you'll never be better than Commander
Mass Effect 2 and 3 definitely take the cake for me. They weren't even RPGs.Zeviander
nnnnnoo Zevi, NO!
Only one I can think of is Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. It had some interesting ideas with the panel system and the missions layout, but in the end the panel system became a mess and the missions became a bit too repetitive. Also the combat was clunky as hell and I just wasn't a fan of the story, even through I did like the interaction between Axel, Roxas, and Xion. I did like that you can play any of the Organization XIII members through and co-op was okay.
