A $50 price cut may jumpstart the Wii again for a bit. I'm expecting they'll do that as a stopgap, then E3 = Wii2 announcement for a 2012 launch.

I think the PS2 will safely remain the highest selling home console of all time.

M$ is getting ready to spend over a billion dollars on advertising Win7 Phone. I think this could have some affect on the 360 since it will have xbox live built in like a gateway for more casuals....Thats about 1.5 billion(including kinect) in advertising for M$, thier getting ready to saturate the airwaves. Gotta have an effect.

I really don't see high-end cell phones impacting console hardware, but that's just imo.

Kinect will definitely have some sort of impact though.

Awesome thread. So after outselling 360 last quarter, PS2 comes back strong again and almost overtakes Wii this time. People need to start realizing that while it may be a "last gen" system, it's still relevant to this gen's fight. It's still selling millions every year. Also, let me congratulate all the MS fans who blew off PS3 beating 360 last quarter by stating that "the slim would widen the gap". Your powers of foresight are amazing. Really.

The best selling console in America was manufactured by a Japanese company(PS2). The best selling current-gen console in America was also manufactured by a Japanese company(Nintendo Wii).

SW ought to put a sticky thread up every three months when the new quarterly reports come out. It's really the only sales data that means anything. In a few days, this thread will be forgotten, and the MS fans will be back to saying "360 is outselling PS3 every week!", despite the fact that PS3 has outsold 360 worldwide pretty much every quarter... for at least the past few years, if not it's entire lifetime...
