This is how sites saw it including this site Gamespot,the price was $500 not $400,so when MS remove Kinect it DROPPED the PRICE to compensate for the lack of Kinect this is a FACT not my opinion they dropped $100 from a unit because they did something which they already claim would not do,sell the xbox one without Kinect.

The xbox 360 had 2 bundles, premium and core but you could not make a core a premium just by buying an $100 HDD,the controller was wired on the core model,and the DVD tray was metallic in the premium on the core it was gray or something like it.

The only difference between those 2 models is Kinect which MS remove in order to be able to DROP the price to $400 so yeah it constitute a price drop and it is Kinect the reason for the price drop.

They started off so bad.

Launched was terrible, leaving people with all kinds of misconceptions around what they where trying to do and even when they changed things it took months and months for consumers to realise. Even in second half of the year people where still going into shops to wondering if it could play used games. The PS4 had a better price and better performance in multiplats and a cleaner launch.

Its taken a year to put thing right and its bound to take some super deals to get the positive vibe going again. They released a version without Kinect giving consumers the option to buy with or without. They kept the updates coming to fill the gaps and make owners feel they where getting looked after. The performance difference has been reduced to the point where it will only get discussed here.

This holiday they had to beat PS4 on all levels, to set the situation straight and they did. They bought better deals and better pricing, idiots can moan and say what a great cost this was and how it was unfair, but it was what they needed to do because of the bad decisions at the start/good pricing decisions by Sony.

Microsoft flexed their muscles, offered us the better deals and it sold better. But that's just the same as what Sony did when they priced the PS4 at launch.

Both Sony and Microsoft have to much invested in their the consoles and both will adapt when things are not going their way and that's bloody good for the consumer.

The Iphone 64GB wasn't strip of anything it is just the same phone with less storage and both models are there on launch which is not consider as a price drop,if there was a 64 GB iphone for $800 and that is the only one you can buy and all of the sudden your sales tank and you decide to strip the flash storage and reduce the price to $700 yes that is consider a price drop because there was no other sku and the only reason for the removal of the flash drive would be to have a lower priced model.
