[QUOTE="momentum_god"] No retailer ever increased the price for warrenty for ps2, that proves that the 360 failrate was far higher momentum_god

That does not prove anything. That is speculation, at best, not hard proof. :|

No thats not speculation thats a fact, if ps2s failrate was anywhere near as bad as 360s retailers would have been losing money on the warrenties and been forced to increase the price, 360 is the only one that had that happen to it

Again, it is speculation. You are speculating that the PS2's failure rate was lower because retailers increased prices on the 360's warranty. Correlation does not imply causation.

They only increased it because they were losing money which they weren't on ps2s so yes it is a fact taht the 360s failrate was worse then ps2s atleast in the terms covered by retail warranties

lol both ps4 and 720 will most likely come around 2014-2015 and at the same time , last gen only one came early-360 wii and ps3same time i see thistime nintneod is first obviously then 720 ps4 but you do got a point

because the 2 will launch in between wii 3 or what ever nintendo decides to call n7 , seeing as wii 2 /cafe will be 2-3 yrs into its lifetime

http://www.pcworld.com/article/134144/estimates_say_xbox_360_failure_rate_as_high_as_33.html Many stores have revised warranty policies in addition to increasing the price of in-store warranties "solely due to the failure rate of the Xbox 360" says Daily Tech. In addition, the report states that EB Games nearly doubled the price of its one-year, over-the-counter warranty. By comparison, one EB Games retailer said the single store failure rate of PS3s was less than one per cent and conceded that "in the hundreds of Wii units sold at that location thus far, zero have come back as defective."

  • Why would devs cater to the PS3 over the next xbox? If anything I forsee the new PS3 simply losing support like what happened to the PS2 when the 360 hit the market.

warmaster670

lol, the ps2 went on for a good while with decent release after the 360 came out, since sony didnt axe its old console to force people to upgrade.

What were these decent releases? God of War was made by sony..

[QUOTE="delta3074"][QUOTE="momentum_god"] If you're not even going to read the link don't talk about it like you havemomentum_god
i did read the link and unlike you i participated in the original thread that discussed the link on april fools day, strategy analytics report was just a joke, you cannot determine a console install base by online active users, multiple accounts on one console skews the results totally, especially when they are WELL BELOW both company's official sales figures, not to mention it's highly likely there are less 'active online users on the 360 because they charge for XBL, a 10 year old kid needs his parents bank details before going gold on the 360, he doesn't need permission on PSN, there are also more likely to be multiple accounts on the Ps3 as it is a free service, there are too many variables that screw up there results basically

The denial is strong in this one

yeah well, common snse and logic obvioulsy are not your strong points, lol

360s failrate several times that of ps3 with sales close, of course ps3 has a higher install base, it's pretty simple logic, that you people fail to understand

whatever helps you sleep at night dude, doesn't matter, even if the Ps3 did have a higher install base the 360 is killing it in software sales, Portal 2 was supposed to be so much better on the Ps3 yet the 360 version still sold the most, developers look at software attach rate before installed base when deciding which system to support, it's cheaper and easier to develope games on the 360 and you sell more games on the xbox 360 so your point about 3rd party support somehow dissapearing for the xbox 360 was absolute twaddle basically and after gobbling up a shed load of SONY's market share and making profit on the 360 since late 2007 MS are in a better position for next gen than a company that hasn't even made back the money they put into the Ps3,lol
