New Counter Strike: Global Offensive

All you need to know from Valve

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) will expand upon the team-based action gameplay that it pioneered when it was launched 12 years ago. CS: GO features new maps, characters, and weapons and delivers updated versions of the ****c CS content (de_dust, etc.). In addition, CS: GO will introduce new gameplay modes, matchmaking, leader boards, and more. "Counter-Strike took the gaming industry by surprise when the unlikely MOD became the most played online PC action game in the world almost immediately after its release in August 1999," said Doug Lombardi at Valve. "For the past 12 years, it has continued to be one of the most-played games in the world, headline competitive gaming tournaments and selling over 25 million units worldwide across the franchise. CS: GO promises to expand on CS' award-winning gameplay and deliver it to gamers on the PC as well as the next gen consoles and the Mac." CS: GO is being developed by Valve in cooperation with Seattle-based Hidden Path Entertainment. The title is targeted for release in early 2012 and will be playable at this year's PAX Prime and London Games Festival.

I was hoping to see another countrstrike with the Source engine 2... you know. After Half life 3... guess that's too much to ask for... k Gabe.

On consoles....:cry: Another Call of Duty because lets face it. Counter strike is about speed and accuracy, consoles have neither.

Will probably be great on all platforms but wont be a CS 1.6 or CS:S.

Meh would rather see HL3 or even TF3. Counter Strike look like a shooter I wouldn't get into much.

Meh. Never liked the gameplay in Counter-Strike. Give me more Day of Defeat!

to be honest i dont see why Counter strike cant be on consoles :-/

its not gonna be hard to translate, keep the gun play but adjust the sensitivity for control pads and keep the PC version pretty much the same rock solid formula it already is.

Finally a good competitor on consoles against CoD in terms of style of play.

If you think DNF is a good game and think Half Life 2 is one of the worst first person shooters of all time, then yes, you have no clue what a quality game is. You're hiding behind "it is my opinion" but every opinion needs quality facts behind it to differentiate it from a regualr opinion and an informed opinion.

How about the user scores in gamespot, and ign?:lol: you actually liked duke nukem. Now I know not to argue with someone who has horrible gaming tastes. Especially with shooters.

You think Bf3 will get 7.0 and MW3 will get 9.5. You don't have the grounds to call someone else's taste poor either.

I actually play games and judge them myself. I don't let others judge what I enjoy.
