[QUOTE="KevinnButlerNPK"]Yeah, they totally mislead people, blame everything and everybody for their problems besides themselves and then praise their employess pretending like they actually accomplished something...As we all know Idnetity Theft is so much better then hardware issues...

RROD was a fail, but fixed by MS. My day one purchase Xbox went in 1 time for repairs. It was smooth and got an Xbox back within 7 days. Is Sony offering to replace these overheating PS3s? I doubt they will, I recall the hassle I got with my disc problems on my PS2. I am MUCH more worried about the Identity Theft issue that their fail network put me in. Cancelling and re-ordering credit cards, not to mention these hackers could very well sell my information....here comes MORE junk mail (physical and electronical).

You are one of the few, many have to wait more than a month for their 360 to get back, and i have 2 friends who's 360 got loss on MS repair center, when you say day 1 you mean launch 360,because then i would say that you are double lucky, since it is hard to find a launch unit that works without having to be send back like 4 times.Disc problems you will have with any drive,i have since i have my PC replace them like 10 times.Anything that have a drive like DVD,CD or Blu-Ray can experience DRE problems, the 360 and PS3 are also affected. http://www.zdnet.com/blog/security/xbox-live-hacked-accounts-stolen/131 Here on 2007 a breach happen on Bungie net, leading to xbox live account to be stolen,a guy account was charge $800 dollar on microsoft products, here read some parts of the link.. Another gamer wrote in with an identical complaint, warning that Microsoft's product support staff have been unhelpful. "They admit this is an issue but say there's nothing they can do about it," he added. Digital Munition's Finisterre also made a note about the lack of support from Microsoft: I just got off the phone with a Microsoft Tech for Xbox live that has confirmed this to with me and they have stated that accounts are being stolen and that "Hackers have control of Xbox live and there is nothing we can do about it. http://gamerant.com/psn-sony-offers-free-identity-theft-insurance-apology-dyce-83005/ But unlike what MS did that they just say there is nothing we can do about it,sony actually put a 1 million dollar policy on all PSN users free of charge not bad for a free service.

hes not the very few at all, everyone i know has had a replacemnet within 2 weeks tops in the UK, and how can you claim that 1 guy having 800 dollars taken is as big as the PSN security breach, 23 million encrypted credit card details vs one guy losing 800 dollars, and i don't believe you as far as what the tech guy said to you, they just wouldn't tell you things like that even if it was happening and hackers certainly don't have control of xbox live, if they did there would be a big fuss about it in the news the same as when PSN went downand no offence, but MS where doing online gaming before SONY even entered the console race with the Ps1, thay have far more experience and far better security than SONY do, so if SONY can do something about hackers i am pretty sure MS can as well.

Looks like the invisible hand of the market is going to give Sony the biggest smackdown in history, fanbase or not.

I have an 80gig fat that I bought brand new in November 2008 (though I've upgraded the HD since then). Besides the fact I've never had any problems with the thing, knock on wood, I've had 4 extended sessions with LA Noire (about 4-6 hours each) since I bought the game and have had no issues whatsoever. Great game btw.

Hey let's all start a blog online and print 'This unknown customer said ' stories so we can then try to use them in here as 'evidence' and I'm sure every fanboy has imaginary friends all on there 8th or 9th 360's. Like I just told a PS fanboy on Facebook the only thing with a 100% fail rate are the claims made by Sony fanboys...

biggest BS post i've seen lol.you basically just listed the possible errors that can happen to the system...there isnt a breakout of errors happening to the the 360 like you trying to insinuate, its just a list of POSSIBLE errors lol. any piece of hardware has a similar list of possible problems. it doesnt mean there's an epidemic. ur just trying to make it seem like the 360 is a super faulty system, when it isnt...at least not anymore, not today.LucidJubilation
That is a list is not a list of possible errors, many of those are confirmed to be problems experience by many 360,each 360 fat 360 gives a code like this when it fails or something is not well connected. E74: I/O Hardware Error - HSIO related, could be crc error, or many things: There is high chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip near the AV cable connection) it can also be caused by a faulty AV cable so check that first. Microsoft covers this error under their 3-year warranty, this is availble to anyone who hasn't modified their console. contact MS to get a free replacement console before attempting to fix this yourself. Failing that this error In some cases it is a problem with the GPU and may be repairable by doing the x-clamp replacement (see error 0102) This was mine a few years ago,a double check it calling my post BS when the whole internet know by now not only how high the fail rate of the 360 was,but also how wide spread the problems were across the board is childish.RROD cover many of the xbox 360 problems and believe me is not just one problem,it go's from CPU,GPU,Ram,solder joints,DVD drive and several others.

For me he is since the majority of my friends who have experience RROD had ended buying a second unit after been for more than 3 weeks without a unit. It wasn't one guy it was several and MS own people actually admitted they could not do anything, but like i already say unlike MS that say we can do nothing, sony actually granted every single user a 1 million dollar policy so if some one actually spend $800 dollars of your money, you have a policy that cover you.Don't read between the lines read all. But since you don't believe me and you have to call MS so call pedigree doing games before sony make the PS1,i tell you this they also have a long history of making OS,and while they are easy to use they are as easy to hack and exploit, ask the millions of people who have suffer online theft, files loss and even had their computers fry because of a damn Windows Explorer vulnerability. Don't try to make MS look like the company that is the most secure, after all we all know how many millions of PC have die do to hacks and viruses and exploits in weakness not only of the internet navigator but also of the OS it self. Sony is been target in a way MS hasn't been on xbox 360,but believe me if hackers would have wanted to bring down xbox live they would have done it,hack and cheats on xbox live have been going on since the original xbox, every internet site can be a victim even the pentagon.Wiki leaks any one.? Just make a quick search on explorer hack and you will see,how any one can be a victim this days.

Yeah that is a clear indication that it would YLOD soon, the better looking the game is the more it will make the unit hot,and faster the unit will fail,my friend one would play games like Resistance 2,Bioshock but as soon as you inserted Uncharted 2, 5 minutes latter the unit would go off.

Odd. I've have the 80GB model and it doesn't freeze or shut off at all, and I play LA Noire at 4-6 hour sittings. Just goes to show that Sony knows how to build a console (coughMICROSOFTcough.)

Also helps if people realize thses things need room to breath. Don't put it in confined spaces.

This is going to get messy

So far Rockstar has confirmed that LA Noire plus other games kill older consoles with the newest patch from Sony

We have received some reports of PS3s overheating while playing L.A. Noire or beeping three times before shutting down/turning themselves off, mostly on older 60GB and 80GB fat models. Primary reports seem to be that updating to firmware 3.61 will cause PlayStations to overheat.

There have been various reports of this on a few different games now, all reporting their PS3s turning off or "Red Lighting" after having installed 3.61. This can range from games randomly freezing to PS3s turning off anywhere between 30 mins use to 2 hours. We have confirmed locally that multiple games (Rockstar and non-Rockstar) overheat or freeze only when 3.61 is installed.

Jaysonguy

i bet this is an exaggerated problem that affected 1 or 2 people only.

i get you...but do you understand what i mean by epidemic? a lot of things are possible...but it doesnt mean theres a big problem thats running rampant with these errors. it just means its possible. anything is possible...but until theres an outbreak of problems in that area to cause concern ur just listing possibilities. just because i know my teeth can fall out that doesnt mean its a big problem...its not DEFINITELY going to happen, or even a good cance of it happening. it could happen, yes. but it might never happen...i just know it could lol. the reason why that list was even made was to just to make people aware. not to tell people there's a big problem with these errors.

you posted all those possible errors as if to say there is a widespread problem with them happening in large numbers now. when in fact they're just things that could maybe happen but in most cases not likely.

This is not exaggerated. I know a few friends whose older PS3's have got the YLOD after the update and were randomly shutting off, but had zero problems before it.

There's alot of people on other forums complaining about it too.

Hope it doesn't happen to me smh
