7?! :?
WTF is up with this game. Scores are definitely lower than I expected.
They gave it a 7 beacuse it was hard. :? WTF! That makes no sense. :|The IGN review said it knocked it for difficulty too. Stating there is a boss battle where he unexpectadly explodes and if your not ready you will die too, so even if you beat him you might have to fight him several times for that fact. That's not even challenging, that's just BS...the game doesn't feel as special as Ninja Gaiden did. Let's face it, Ninja Gaiden Black left us a bit spoiled as far as the complete package goes. In terms of straight action and stylish, deep gameplay, Ninja Gaiden II succeeds on nearly every front. What it lacks is the fat -- that extra something on the meat to give it flavor
if NG2 flopped here at Gamespot does that mean...
"This gen will start with MGS4" - Rob Smith = TRUE??
SHuN_G0Ku
Seriously doubt it. I believe that "this gen" started wwwwaaaayyyyy before already. It started with Lair. This gen is the "gen of overhyped flops."
Lol. I kid. :P
I guess my prediction came true. :( NG2 is being knocked down for being "too hard" just like another PS3 exclusive...dragonpuppyIt's really patheic, to see a game get knock down for it's difficulty. Can we at least get some reviewers who actually played the first NG?
how is a 8.7 a flop! thats a good score . hell if you really want to feel good about round that punk up lol.
NG is great , cant wait for 2

[QUOTE="gohan2710"][QUOTE="xTHExJUICEx"]and this is why games nowadays are to easy, cuz of people like you......thats why i always loved arcade games since they were alot more challenging than next gen gamesPersonally it makes sense to me, I couldnt stand playing or at least trying to play DMC3 and Sigma because of the difficulty.
xTHExJUICEx
Must be why Im loving this gen so much :D
im not blaming u specifically......i just noticed that some sites need reveiewers for specific genres, specially for rpgs, action games and some others....if you cant take a challange then why bother playing on it........ng is known for making alot of people wanna throw they controller out the window...ohh well, dont care, i already have this game pre-order, and also, people with 360, they are gonna release a demo soon :Dhow is a 8.7 a flop! thats a good score . hell if you really want to feel good about round that punk up lol.

Its a flop because Lemmings hyped it AAA, anything that fails to reach the hyped status is considered a flop. Does it make it a bad game? No. It just means it didn't meet what the mass was expecting the game to get.
I'm pretty sure that is from the ign review. I have no problem with that review. It is the Gamesradar review that is terrible.Several reasons including framerate, difficulty, camera angles. They also said this:

We didn't post a review yet because there were some load time and framerate issues with the review build discs. We decided it would be best to wait for a retail build to see if these issues were in fact isolated to the review discs only in order to give the game a more reflective overall review.
I guess other sites just decided to go ahead with their reviews without worrying about it...Shockwave

Looks like anything can happen with the GameSpot review as there really may have been a problem with the discs.
Cows, you all might want to sit back and wait until that GS review. Save yourselves from potential self-ownage.

The sad thing is that people are treating difficulty like it's a bad thing. If it was insanely difficult (like one hit and you die on NORMAL) then I would agree. Yet there is little evidence of such an insane amount of frustration. I loved Uncharted, but when Gamespot knocked it down for being "too hard" I was shocked. It seems to me that game reviewers are becoming too soft.

Unless MGS4 scores a 10 (Which I doubt) GOTY will go to GTAIV.
I believe in what you doubt, Mgs4 can easily win the goty :wink:No it won't. It will be an awesome game, but it won't win GOTY.
The framerate dropped when there were 100 + enemies on screens, it's not like it happens every battle like Mass effect (which they gave AAA). The Difficulty complaint is complete and utter BS! If he's having trouble with the difficulty then he shouldn't be even be reviewing the game at all!Several reasons including framerate, difficulty, camera angles. They also said this:

NG is known for it's difficulty he should have expect that. The Camera is the only legitimate complaint.

Well to be fair its not like they stole the review builds to get the review out fast, it was sent to them to review the game. This has happened before with Lost Odessy which is why I brought it up in the first place, and it seems like I was right. Now I do think if there was doubt like in the IGN review where they said they were having problems in their review build then they shouldn't of posted it yet, but they could be wanting to get it out fast to get the most hits possible.

It's the responsibility of the developer to get reviewing companies and sites a review copy that is a proper reflection of their product. Game reviews aren't expected to have to go buy a copy on the shelf to review (not usually, anyway). TeamXbox is doing the right thing...but they were under no obligation to.[QUOTE="Dreams-Visions"]TeamXbox Founder/Admin says:

Dale is reviewing it. I have no idea what he was thinking score wise. All I know is Friday we got word that the retail version didn't have the same issues the review builds did, so Saturday there was discussion on holding the review until this could be verified/checked out. So that's what we've done.
So we are hoping to land a retail build ASAP so we can post our review in the next couple days. Sorry for the delay, but we didn't feel it would be just to rush to post ASAP without being able to say with certainty whether or not there was in fact issues with the framerate/load times...
We also didn't think it made any sense to review/score the game and just hope that it would be fixed or to take away from it without checking...Shockwave

could IGN retract their review if the retail version turns out to be free of the framerate issues?Mordred19they can do whatever they want to do.
GamesRadar said the game is too hard, IGN said it's rewarding in its difficulty. GamesRadar said the backdrops are dull, IGN said they're a sight to behold. Some pretty different opinions right there.
I honestly don't think the game should be knocked for the difficulty. Yeah, Ninja Gaiden was hard, but it was so rewarding when it all clicked. Ninja Gaiden 2 seems to add to that, despite the odd "unfair" moment. The camera and (potentially fixed) framerate seem to be the only legitimate complaints.

Except for GTA4 of course
It will be one sad day if that overrated garbage recieves GOTY.
yeah, i hope gears 2 is awesome and gets goty instead. or mgs4 or fallout3

Yeah I know, thats what I was saying in my other post. Though I do put blame on IGN since they clearly stated in their review build of the game, so they knew what was going on I think. They didn't want to wait on the review since the sooner a review is out the more hits you get to your site. I could be wrong though, maybe they just thought nothing of it and did procedure as usual. As for the 7 on Gameradar I have no comment on though since I have no idea whats up with their review.
Overall I could careless though I have nothing to lose either way since I didn't hype the game nor did I bash it. :P
As long as I enjoy the game Ill be fine with whatever the score is.

We dont know that for sure, we just know the review build has some issues. The final version very well could have the same problems, but we wont know untill its released.
IGN:
Lasting Appeal
This is a game that is worth replaying on the harder difficulties.
People complaining about how hard it is?
IGN gave Haze a 4.5
GS gave Haze a 6.0
IGN gave Ninja Gaiden II a 8.7
GS gave Ninja Gaiden II a "?.?"
It really wouldn't be out of the question for this game to get AAA here. I mean IGN gave No More Heroes a 7.8 while GS gave it a 9.0
So who's to really know if this game will get AAA or not until the actual review comes out? But rest assured if it flops you will see me doing a repeat of the Haze Incident
