Ninja Gaiden II Receives 8.7 from IGN...

Why are reviews coming out based on old builds that have frame rate problems?, they were told to wait for retail copies of the game as these issues are fixed.

I just can't take reviews seriously anymore, it's like they are done by children who are running as fast as they can to win da race. Just pathetic.

They have review builds that they recieve well before the game releases. I don't see the reasoning behind Team Ninja's decision on sending a buggy build, like someone said you'll want the best representation possible for your product.

On another note though, its up the the publication to deliver the most precise review possible so that no damage is done to your reputation if your known for citing unapplicable errors with whatever game you reviewing.

Dont ever compare this game to the brilliance that is MGS4

exactly, if 360 fanboys are going to use IGN reviews for games they must accept that the ps3 fanboys will too.

Fact is this game was hyped to be amazing, it got 8.5, which is still great.

If this game was released on PS3 this issue would not have happpened. Ninja Gaiden Sigma ran flawlessly on PS3 @60 fps and in 1080p!

Wrong, It runs at 720p and it does have slowdown, it doesn't happen often but still, and sometimes even mid-fight loading. I also heard that the framerate and loading issues might be fixed in the retail version of NG2.

But back to topic, expected a little higher but that's a great score, can't wait. :)

It's a crapy postion for us because sure we'd love to have our review up now, but we want to make sure our review well reflects the game's final performance. Sure we are going to lose some of the wind in the sails by holding it and not having it up right now along with the rest of the sites that went ahead and posted theirs, but oh well...

Still, it does somewhat burn my chaps to see it up elsewhere while we are still sitting on it...because of something that was out of our control.tubbyc

That's a relief. NG is not the kind of game where you would want the frame rate bogging down when you're in the middle of concentrating on something. Hopefully it will be really solid when it's released.

dude read the IGN review...it RARELY happens. So it wouldn't make that much difference in a review.

Good score, but it will or was never considered GOTY by many, except hardcore NG fans.

This will be rather contrasting ... IGN giving NG2 a 8.7 ... what will IGN give MGS4 then? (rmb ign was invited to japan, they were indeed impressed by mgs4)

anyway, kinda stupid of the developers to give an unfinish built to IGN ..

the gamespot reveiw aint come out yet. IGN tends to be pretty harsh when it wants to. it gave NMH a 7.5 when GS gave it 9.0 so it could still be AAA. 8.7 is VERY close

As far as I can tell this is away for the Ps3 folks to get their pride back for Haze. Sure NG2 didn't get a 9 but is better than just about three fourths of a PS3 games. So back off .360ru13r
