Well, as long as we get some game iformation some way then, alright. Hopefully we will still see some Wii U news around E3 time.

Interesting Move.
I think the logic here is that the conference was trying to appeal to 4 groups at once:
1. Gamers
2. The Press
3. Retailers
4. Investors
So, rather than trying to cater to all four at once, they're splitting up the events in the hope of catering more directly to everyone.Â
1. Game information/announcements for Gamers via internet/NDs
2. Experiences & demos for the press, plus a specific closed event
3. Closed event for Retailers
Gives them more breathing Room.
[QUOTE="Puckhog04"]Agreed. I'd also like to say that as long as they do some Nintendo Directs it would be fine. Last year they had their conference which was "eh" while the ND were very good. The ignorance and stupidity of fanboys here just astounds me.
Kaze_no_Mirai
Conferences are always dissapointing. They are at E3, they're just splitting up the show in terms of who they are catering to. I wouldn't expect simple minded fanboys to understand it though.
I like the Nintendo Directs as well. It's like a "mini" E3 one a month.
Doubt anyone will give a shit. Even with a new console coming out in 6 months, their press conference was still ass. senses_fail_06
I don't know about everyone else but I always come out of the conferences dissapointed. I expect to see certain things and 99% of the time, they aren't shown. Only time will tell what they are doing with this. But as long as they have that large list of upcoming exclusives coming out by the end of the year, I'm happy. I'm in it for the games.
If this is true and they are a no show at e3
then Iwata and Reggie need to go. I'm getting tired of both of them and there bs reasons for making dumb decisions
You mean they pity Sony and Microsoft and are being merciful.Â[QUOTE="g0ddyX"]
Nintendo realise they have no chance against 720, PS4 and tech demo's of new games.
Its no brainer. Theyre going to have to present another day where they can't be overshadowed.Jonwh18

Nintendo knows that no one will give a shit about another Mario and Zelda but their diehard fans.
lundy86_4
Who number in the millions? Oh shit!
So what? Point is they have nothing to show that someone that wasn't going to buy a Wii U at some point any way will get excited about. We know the same shit is coming down the pipe. Save it for their Cartoon Direct.
Me in denial? STop lying to yourself. You and I both know that Nintendo would have creamed both $0nY and M$ and they aren't even revealing a next gen system! :lol:Â[QUOTE="Jonwh18"]
[QUOTE="g0ddyX"]
Is that your way of being in denial? There, there, you will get some Mario and Zelda eventually, just dont expect it to be spectacular.
The gaming industry will look at E3 and be amazed.
E3 just got heck of a lot better, more time to show off next gen.g0ddyX
[QUOTE="g0ddyX"]
[QUOTE="Jonwh18"] I've seen your "next gen" Ps4 stuff and all I have to say is .... meh, I'm unimpressed. PC's are alreay miles ahead of anything the PS4 has to offer. The same will apply to the 720. Nintendo is dominating on the gameplay fron thas they have for years. The PS4 and 720 are just uninnovative, generic, and boring.Â
Jonwh18
Lies? From the Beacon of truth? :o:o:o It's not a lie, they are taking what they feel is appropriate if they do this. If they are trying to avoid E3 it's because they know they don't have the necessary stuff to show to be able to compete with a console reveal. Considering Pikmin 3 is in August, and we still don't have dates for even Wonderful 101 or Bayonetta 2(much less footage), I have even bigger doubts that they are in any position to show a 3D Mario or a Zelda.[QUOTE="Jonwh18"]

If they do plan on skipping E3s press conference yeah it has more to do with what Nintendo doesn't have to show for the WiiU, and less to do with anything being wrong with E3 or them "chaning their PR structure"Â
All assuming this rumor is true.jg4xchamp
I don't know. Even when they had stuff to show in past years, they often conspicuously left it out of the E3 conference. It seems entirely credible that the stage show venue was not working for them.
Not having anything big to show must be a factor, but I don't think it's necessarily the main one.
[QUOTE="g0ddyX"]
[QUOTE="Jonwh18"] PC and Wii U are opposite ends of the spectrum, you get the best of both worlds. Your close mindedness is preventing you from enjoying so many games. I feel so sorry for you.Â
Jonwh18
Same type of game, different platforms.
Having an open mind is one thing but wasting time when you have not got much time on a poorer capable machine when theres other great games and indie games to play, why? Maybe you have a close mind. Unless you can go through the eye sore then carry on.
Exactly and I would argue that's just as likely to effect their resources in a negative way having to pump out so many games for 2 systems. Either way if they are skipping a big press event when they have all the eyes on them then I don't see any reason to go with it being more a response to them being able to take their current potential E3 showing and realizing it doesn't stack up well enough to new consoles.[QUOTE="jg4xchamp"]
[QUOTE="Jonwh18"] Nintendo has been pumping out game after game for the 3DS. You can't tell me that they couldn't have just saved some of that if they really wanted/needed to fill up their E3 conference.Â
Jonwh18
A lot of people here are qualified to work at Fox News. Just reading the title and little else. They are going to be at e3 but instead of having a everybody presser they are splitting it up to smaller events for all parties who will be watching. Nintendo directs will probably be where they hold their normal e3 caliber stuff this year. And they will be at the actual e3. The pressers normally happened before e3. So nothing really major has changed. And hopefully this will make the news they have coming out that week seem a little better.WllDan7Hell, if this next example cared about games the way we do, they'd do Glenn Beck (former Fox News anchor, but still pulls off the same s***) proud.
But he doesn't.
This thread makes me wonder how the E3 will turn out for them and to see if this move was for the better or the worse.
Either way, this announcement is hilarious when you see people assume that they wont even come to E3. Wasdie was right, the internet really does make it a lot easier for idiots to project their opinions and misinformation.
F*ck man, you expect us to read? Â Cant you make some funny pics, or put it in a gif?

The only one I have isn't relevent. :(
I guess this can be somewhat relevent to his new strategy.
Nintendo has held annual press conferences at E3 for nearly two decades. But this year, it sounds like the company will be bowing out of the typical proceedings.
Speaking with investors during a meeting today, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata indicated that the company will not be hosting a large-scale presentation where new news is presented to a general audience from all over the world as in previous years.
Below are Iwatas comments in full, which have been translated by NeoGAFs StreetsAhead:
In the past, we have announced new titles at Investors Meetings and then uploaded videos onto the internet, but with new methods like Nintendo Direct, that we have now, we believe that we are able to provide more appropriate and effective information separately to people from different standpoints and interests [gamer, investor, etc].
First, we have decided not to hold a large-scale presentation where new news is presented to a general audience from all over the world as in previous years. Instead, we are planning several smaller events for software targeted at the American market. One of these will be a closed event for distributors, and another will be a closed event for the Western press. I did not appear in last years E3 presentation, and I do not intend to appear in these events either. Apart from these closed events, during E3, we are deliberating how to deliver game information to those at home using new methods, so we will announce further plans later.

What the hell does TSHBO even mean? is it "the sheep have been owned?" (just got it in the last few seconds)
if so, that's a weird thing to make an acronym for.

Because he knows those names?
Nintendo will probably have some small booth with a few fat pimply geeks in Mario shirts playing their 1980s rehash demos while everyone else is focused on Sony and M$. This confirms Nintendo is irrelevant to gaming if sheep didn't already realize it. They don't appeal to the same people that Sony, M$ and 3rd parties do.

Nintendo innovates again showing Sony & M$ the erros of their ways. Besides I like it better this way. Watch a nintendo direct where they get straight to the point instead of a 1.5 hr conferance where everyone beats around the bush for 80 minutes and everything is in the last 10 min anyway.
Nintendo will be at E3. They just wont have a huge showing. I mean... they would be showing games only against two consoles about to be released. Nintendo is not stupid, they realize trying to strike at E3 would probably be ill timed, because they would be swallowed alive by two unreleased consoles.... of course hype is higher for the two of them... lol. However, Nintendo is sure to show a few games or features/future plans.
