PC can always go by DVDs because most of the game's content is installed anyways. i bought DMC3 for the PC years ago and it came with 5 DVDs but it didn't matter because i just had to install all 5 discs once and i just needed the first disc for DRM everytime i play. that's the case for most PC games, but on consoles you don't install all the content that's why in one way or another the discs always stream content and that is the problem with DVD because you need to swap discs halfway through a game. NeverWinter Nights on PC had 3 discs about 10 years ago yet i never had to swap discs.

Realistically it's a generation at least too early for this.

Sony and Playstation need to reach as many people as possible. There is just too much risk that the world isn't ready for a cloud gaming only service. A lot of peoples internet isn't ready for it.

And the wii survived with PS2 graphics...good idea everyone should aim for the lowest common denominator. Now that I think about it we don't even need online or HD graphics at all floppy disks would surfice!

Makes perfect sense for Sony to go after a cloud gaming service for their TVs. As of right now this move seems to be for all Sony products rather than just their future gaming console.

That's on bold claim to think that there won't be physical games for the PS4. Infact, it's absolutly illogical. I can see them using Gakai to keep them alive on the PC front and integrate the Gakai tech to provide alternate ways to play games and maybe even do BC without having to put any PS3 hardware in the PS4.

Just because you made a bold claim doesn't make it true. There is no evidence to support your claim. Gakai is a PC thing, not a console thing. You have no way of knowing Sony's plans for it.

Anybody here who believes that the PS4 is going to be 100% cloud based needs a reality check.
