[QUOTE="Timstuff"]This is kind of like boasting about Wii's sales. When most of the audience is casuals with only a fringe minority of core gamers, no-one really cares about how much money it makes except the people who are getting the money. Sorry hermits, but hardcore PC gaming is not going to rise to the top again, no matter how much money Facebook games make.Timstuff
Wow desperate much? Funny thing this isn't including crap like facebook. Too bad we can't see what the hard core market of consoles are with all the wii games, kinect games, psmove games, and other casual crap taking up most of the market for consoles.
We've been hearing this crap for years. "Consoles will go extinct, and the PC will rise again!" And yet every generation, the PC gaming market becomes more and more segmented while the console market keeps growing.http://kotaku.com/5837957/faux-futurists-want-to-keep-pc-gaming-in-the-past
PC gaming is not going away, but it is hardly going to become the dominant platform for hardcore games. Consoles are where it's at, and I don't see that changing in the foreseeable future. The only way I see PC taking over is if they somehow become as economical and user-friendly as consoles.
How come that chart doesn't seperate the casual and hardcore console market
PC hardware is getting cheaper and more powerful HPs AMD APU based $600 laptops can do entry level gaming from which is pretty impressive for a laptop. What are these Hardcore games cause I don't see things like X3 Terran, ArmA, or Red Orchestra on consoles. Things like Steam are also making things easier for people. What's so complicated about it maybe its the consumers who are too simple minded.
