the game was supposed to be released today because GPU drivers are coming out today....I have a feeling that it was just for that reason.

We each have our own POV, with our own existing setup, and that will always determine which version is superior for YOU. But yes, given unlimited budget, the PC version is superior.

But my point was that the 360 version will be ranked higher, will sell better, be more accessible to people. I never said the 360 version was better technially, just better for people who do not have high end PC's, and those who don't like playing games on keyboard/mouse, believe me they're out there.

We each have our own POV, with our own existing setup, and that will always determine which version is superior for YOU. But yes, given unlimited budget, the PC version is superior.

its the same game. its bioshock on both platforms. its not bioshock: extended addition, bioshock:sigma or whatever. its the same game.

I downloaded mine from Fileplanet. Mine started downloading last night around 6PM or so. When it got done the Fileplanet Download Agent said that I had to wait on the key to play the demo or something. I went to where the file downloaded and tried to install and told me that I wasn't running the correct version of Windows or something. I'm using Vista x64. If I can't play it when I get home I'll just get the torrent or something. I'll find a way. Anyways I will be playing Bioshock on the following system....

Fact is if these people really did care they'd own a high end pc, so the not caring argument seems completely legitimate to me.

Personally I don't give a damn, much more important to me is not having to faff around. I own a mid range pc to play games that aren't well suited to consoles or have major advantages on the pc but when I come home from work it is much more important to me that I can start/play a game with as little effort as possible than whether I can see a jaggie with my face 2 inches from the screen.

Different people have different priorities.

smokey, i am not annoyed by the fact that the pc version can have better graphics on a high end pc. thats fine. i was never annoyed about that. now im annoyed because i said we shouldnt bring it up again and you say "you failed" when clearly i proved that you worded your statement wrong. you admitted they were the same game. thats what i was annoyed about. why we are going through this again i do not know.

So what's up with the official review topic for Bioshock?. Sorry to break it to Gamespot but their review is no longer important as we already know the game is great. The only thing the review will be good for is for silly fanboy nonsense,

Pretty much 100% Agree there. The only real score they could give this game is a 9.5. It will be nothing less. They would just look silly in the eyes of everyone based on all the 10/10s or 9.7s, etc that have been released. 9.5 would actually be one of the lowester scores out there............

Just finished up playing through the demo on my PC. I don't think I have ever played a more optimised game. I'm running it on HIGH settings in DX9 at 1024x768 resolution at a steady 20-30fps on my 2 year-old rig (P4 2.667Ghz, X1650Pro 512MB, 2.25GB DDR-333 RAM). It is running equally comparable to the Xbox 360, if not better. Irrational has done it yet again and delivered a must not miss PC game (the game feels like it was built for the PC and not the 360)... I was a little worried about my computer having troubles but it performs on my rig much better then Half Life 2, Doom 3 and Battlefield 2.foxhound_fox

Nice screenshot, by the way--aside from a few jaggies it's definitely comparable to the 360 version.

I like Cakeordeath, he's a very reasonable mod, but I just don't understand Casey, he makes topics like myths that need to die, as if his opinion on gaming is the only one that counts. That's fair enough, but does it need to be stickied?, Idon't see the logic behind that, it must be a power trip.

And in the topic about people hiding behind their PC, he took the oppertunity to ask lemmings why they're hiding?, it's like he holds a grudge against Xbox 360 for sharing games with PC like Bioshock. I don't know but I find him to be a bit to controlling, unable to hear the voice of reason. I'm sure he'll put me on his list or something but I don't care, this place needs some fresh blood to make the place feel less constricted, but like I said, I like Cakeordeath.

I can't remember the last time that GS got a review out PRIOR to a game's street date. It does dampen the impact of their reviews when everyone else has theirs out already...

Yes and it runs better on ATi hardware, atleast in DX9 mode. :D Even tho its not a ATi game. Runs pretty much 54-61fps (vsink) through the whole demo, random drops to ~50 happen VERY rarely. DX10 mode doesnt look like it supports AA, but we shall wait and see. I want atleast 4xAA in this game.

Nvidia has been driver happy lately. They released 162 in early August, then a couple days after 163.11 and now 163.44. Downloading now.

Seeing that people are saying that their 2+ year old pcs apparently run the game better than the x360, I don't think that system requirements is as big of a deal as lemmings think it is.

Yeah, for good reason: their drivers suck. Every new driver fixes 1 or two problem then adds 10-15 other problems. Hopefully this driver is good.
