6.5 is an unfortunate score. But I am still going to be using gamerankings at the end of the year as well , so all is not lost lemmings. It's just one opinion of many. I would however advise you to think about what it is you are actually buying. Nobody is going to take away your "halo" street cred or you won't be belittled if you don't follow the crowd. Do what you want to do , play what you want to play.

Still have their great PC RTS title. :) Age of Empires series.

But, yea, it's a shame they couldn't go out with a truly epic game like the Age of Empires games were to alot of us gamers. I really can't say i'm surprised at the score though. I hated the demo. I think it's ironic. FEAR2 demo got literally destroyed here at the forums when it came out and scored an 8.5? (don't remember the number specifically) Then the Halo Wars demo comes out and gets nothing but praise mostly and it flops as bad as this. I mean, there were lemmings comparing this to Empire at War...honestly...

Who's the one nitpicking here? Standards and expectations become greater as time passes by. If you have to go back 10 to 15 years or so to find comparable games then that really doesn't speak for your argument.

That said, I'm still really looking forward to this. I'm not a hardcore RTS fan, so a casualized RTS sounds great to me. Of course, the other game I'm looking forward to is Killzone 2 - figure that one out.

Yea i just realized that, got the IGN review confused with Gamespot. Etiher way, FEAR2 was demolished when it came to the demo and Halo Wars was praised. Still somewhat ironic considering the scores. I still think it's rather funny that HW was being compared to Empire Total War. But, yea, got the reviews confused.

That makes two of us. I enjoyed the demo on both games and will still get both regardless of the score. I've enjoyed flops before on all consoles, so sue me.

I can't believe a Killzone game is going to outscore a Halo game. If anyone had said that 4 years ago, they would be laughed at. This is assuming Kilzone 2 scores more than 6.5, of course.Floppy_Jim

If inFamous flops, and there's a chance it will, you end up with a serious backfire. RE5 is also multiplat, so it's not much use to fall back on that when pretty much anyone can play it. Best thing to do is claim bias/lack of integrity/etc. now, that way you can qoute yourself later when people question you.

So here goes: I can't belive this review! They are below the metacetric score by like 2 points! Everyone else is claiming this is a good/great game except Gamespot. Do Gamespot consider themselved to have higher standards? Then why did AC get a 9?! Can't answer that? Thought so! This just goes to show how far GS has fallen over the past few years. They have no integrity left at all!

No, unlike IGN, GS fires majority of their reviewers and that is why some reviews take forever to come out.

No. They share the staff. Having 3 diffrent critics reviewing the same game is an unnesescary waste of resources, I don't understand why IGN do. A second opinion might be requested on some sites, but 3 diffrent reviews? I don't understand that. The GeoW 2 one is a UK review for example.
