Official Halo Wars Thread - Keep It Here!

It seems like they totally missed the point. They tried to make an RTS game for consoles and Gamespot are criticizing it for not being more like PC RTS games. Doesn't anyone else see this?

The difference is PC and consoles have different standards so unless the game is designed for both PC and consoles, you shouldn't compare the 2.

Wow, the review seems to be fairly postive, not in the 6.5 range. I don't see why they looked at PC RTS. They did not look at PC Turn Based Stragy when they reviewed Civ Rev. Which compaired to the other civ games was very simple. But it works for the consoles. It is the same with RTS, they can't be like their big brother on the PC, it is just impossible,

But we only use Gamespot here, so Halo Wars is a major flop. But it sometimes seem they give afew games free passes on something then play hard ball on an other game.

Yeah, KZ2 flopping would certainly even things out. But if Star Ocean 4 flops and KZ2 meets the hype, this shall be "Cowspot". There will be Bovines coming out the wazoo.

Correction, this is how console RTS games stacked up when rated on the PC RTS scale. Whether you like it or not, games on the Xbox360/PS3 are already rated on the same scale as PC games. To say otherwise is just fanboysim.

I don't think the cows would be saying that Killzone 2 would score higher than Halo Wars if it flops, they would probably go back to saying Gamespot is Lemspot and is getting paid off by MS. And probably cry saying we should use Gamerankings.

After you've all read through this, I implore you to go back into history, and reread through this.

GS is the only review that counts in SW:|, but nice damage control there.

Also, anyone notice how in the video review there was a menu screenshot showing Blood Gulch as a playable 1v1 multiplayer map? It's at 3:59. That's sure to please some Halo fans.

Anyway, as I said before, I hope I like this game more than the reviewer did, because there's no way I'm not getting it.

Yea everytime lems or consolities in general come saying there is no difference I'll just point em to the halo wars reviews. Note I said reviews.. not review, this includes IGN etc.

Don't include Wii owners under consolites. They get hated on just as much by PS3 and 360 fanboys as the PC owners.

Well people were already hating on Halo Wars before it was released, so this just confirms peoples suspicions. KZ2 however has keep haters mostly silent. It's not as if haters can say, "Oh well it's just a generic FPS", when they are the ones who are playing Halo 3, CoD 4 etc. on their own Xbox 360's. So if it flops it will be like a dam of built up hate bursting and flooding system wars in a very short period of time. That would be funny. The DC will be so futile it would be almost painful to read. Still, I hope KZ2 turns out well, regardless of what it scores, I just want it to flop here to see the chaos :P. It has enough good reviews everywhere else anyway.

Hah I called this. I told people not to hype it. RTS on consoles are just not that good. Even though I was expecting atleast a 7.0 oh well wasn't going to buy it anyway.
