To get a true number the charts that every one depends on are just basicly an average. On the other hand has anyone been watching the NASDAQ numbers, these numbers comes from actual consumer purchases from all the retailers.

I suspect that Sony could lower their prices to match those of their 360 counterparts and they still would not be able to sell more than the 360.
It is obvious that hard core gamers have chosen the 360 as the next-gen console of choice. The only ones buying the PS3 are probably hard core PS2 fanboys. How dissapointed these guy must be...
Why are people acting like PS3 sales are garbage? It doubled its sales from last June. Sold 98k in June(5 week period) and 159k in July(4 week period). 98,000/5= 20K per week. 159,000/4= 40K per week. Sony(and gamestop) even said themselves that the sales doubled. People were impressed when they heard that....but now that the numbers are official, they are terrible? You only think they are so terrible cause 360 still outsold it. That 11k sales difference betweem 360 and PS3 has no signifigant value except to "claim ownage". PS3 sells 20k a week in Japan, and 360 sells 3k there, so that alone more than levels out this extra 11k...NPD is USA only, people tend to forget this or they're just ignorant of the rest of world....
The real surprise of this NPD is how Wii managed to sell 400k in just 4 weeks. Thats even more than it sold in the last NPD, which was 5 weeks.
Mario Party 8. Released in May. Outsells every Wii release from June and July.
What's going on here? It's a bad sign that a low-budget party game can rake in so much cash and outsell all the real games. If Boogie makes it to the top then I would be getting real worried sheep.

62%? Do your math or research :|. June was a 5 week reporting period, July was 4 weeks. PS3 sales increased almost exactly 100%(actually a smidget over 100%).
Where are PC sales? We get constantly reminded that this is SYSTEM wars and leaving out the PC is trolling. Yet, time after time, sales numbers are shoved down our throats with the Sheep *thinking* they reign supreme. Why is it ok to forget about the PC when sales come up? Yeah keep quibbling over sales percentages. The clear, bottom line, is that 360 still beat the PS3 in sales. How is a %100 increase instead of a %62 not helping my point stand out even better? I don't really get how the 360 got a little more sales than the PS3.
All analysts were saying the 360 sales would be at 125-140k.

For some reason, they thought the talk about the RROD and the new warranty would decrease its sales. Looks like it had no effect whatsoever, niether positive nor negative. It sold, on a weekly basis in July, about the same as in June.

2. Even with a 100 dollar price cut the Ps3 is no match for the 360, and the 360 is getting its own price cut next month. also a 200% up in sales is pretty big and there is only 10,000 diffrence, a 50 or 100 dollor cut in ps3 will be before xmas and thats when we really see the sale pop

How is a 100% increase in sales worse than a 62% increase? If it was only a 62% increase than it would of sold 126k instead of 159k. And NPD is US only chump, if ps3 continues to sell 11k less than 360 in US then thats fine and dandy cause PS3 will be outselling 360 worldwide at that rate.

PS3 is only outselling 360 in Germany, Spainand Italy, not Uk which is the bigges game market in Europe. also it hasnt caught up with 360 overall sales in any market, its still third and will remain so
