I'm comparing newly released titles.If you check the numbers formultiplatform 3rd party games on the 360, PS3 & Wii, you'll seethe Wii is far behind in sales. If 3rd party developers want to continue making more games for the Wii, these number have to increase by a lot. Mario Strikers to Halo 3 was a bad comparison. lol!! Still, Nintendo exclusive titles should be selling well over 200K for it's first week. Mario Galaxy, SSBB and Metroid 3 should do it with no problems.

Madden 07 Wii sold 50,000 in its first week. And ended up at 390k.

Yep... Not every PC sold is a gaming PC. I don't consider 1 GB of RAM running Vista with integrated graphics a gaming PC.

Yes, but the reality is that most of those PC will be in some major company's business office. The majority of those PC won't be playing any games at all except maybe Solitaire and Mindsweep. :lol:

I had this conversation a month ago in Casey's official thread. Basically if you want to include any PC that can play a flash game then you must also include every mobile phone that can play Snakes or pac man (they all can). Which means hundreds of millions units sold. So the true winner of SW is the mobile phone. :|

Well, the Madden 07 360 sold 680k in its first week and ended up at 1.7 million. The 360 versions always get advertised more >.>

Good luck playing at a steady frame rate. Hope you get rid of that bloat wear too... That really slows down the system. Let me know when you can turn the graphics to medium and have a good resolution too. No AA either. Jag city.

Correction: PSP hardware is doing decently. PSP software has been quite abysmal for the past year, as practically no game outside of the Monster Hunter series entered the Top 30 sales, and even those games tend to disappear after a little over two weeks of decent sales.

Industry analyst Michael Pachter expects the PS3 to outsell the Xbox 360 for July due to Sony's $100 price cut last month. If accurate, it would mark the first time the PS3 outsold the Xbox 360.

"We expect a bump in PS3 hardware and software sales due to the PS3 price cuts," Pachter said in his NPD preview report. "Sony stated that sales of PS3 approximately doubled after the price cut, with sales before the price cut averaging 20,000 units per week."

In turn, the analyst thinks Xbox 360 sales will be cut in half due to reliability issues surrounding the three rings of death error.

"We have forecast a month-over-month decline for Xbox 360 hardware sales, due to the warranty issue announced in early July. We believe that the announcement may have disrupted sales for a week or so, as consumers struggled with the meaning of the 'three red rings of death' issue."

But who will come on top when the numbers are released? It's all Nintendo at similar levels of previous months.

In addition, Pachter expects total industry growth to be 13 percent over last year. (32 percent, wow!)

The NPD group, which tracks North American game sales, will release data for July on Thursday August 24.

just out of curiosity, what month do you see the PS3 outselling the 360? If any month should have done it in 2007, it would have been July. a $100 price drop couldn't help them catch Microsoft's Xbox 360.

Now...the Xbox 360 drops its price and holds onto the best version of Madden, the only console version of Bioshock, and Halo 3 looming on the horizon. PS3 won't be outselling the 360 in August or September. Guaranteed. October? Unlikely. November yields Mass Effect if I recall correctly. And the Wii will outpace everyone.

So...what month in 2007 will the PS3 win?

Not bad. But maybe not good enough either.

well with the ps3 outselling 360 here in europe and japan its only a matter of time for america.

also a 200% up in sales is pretty big and there is only 10,000 diffrence, a 50 or 100 dollor cut in ps3 will be before xmas and thats when we really see the sale pop

We all talk next gen. But most customers may not care if a game system is next gen or not. They just want to play games without spending a lot money doing it. That one of the reason why the Wii does so well. I hope 360 and PS3 follow suit and no I do not count the core.
