this will most likely be the second flop for lemmings this year. i feel bad for them considering this is only their second exclusive game of this year. :?-Renegade

Perhaps one of the many PS3 loyalists can explain something to me,
If Ninja Gaiden II scores say an 8.5 it has effectively outscored all but one of PS3's exclusive titles, and tied another.
If Ninja Gaiden II scores say an 8.0 it has effectively outscored all but two of PS3's exclusive titles, and tied two others.
I am not quite sure if that entitles anyone to bragging rights on the PS3 side of the fence.

Not many of those PS3 titles were killer apps though.
[QUOTE="MikeE21286"]7.5 on xbox online (sorry if already said)
I am pretty shocked at these scores
lolkie_81
Im shocked as well. Maybe its just not a very good game. HS, Uncharted, and resistance scored low and I agreed with all those scores. All those games were meh. I was really looking forward to this game but it seems its turing out to be just a average game.
Scoring a 7.5 and a 8.7 doesnt mean the game is average.

Metal Gear Solid 4 looms ever closer, and from the previews and reviews weve got so far, its looking like one of the most impressive games this gen. NG II was supposed to counter this, and so far it seems to not be living up to expectations. This is basically just the pre-show to what we'll more than likely be seeing June 12th.

A flop is a flop regardless of what games it outscores, its actually even worse after 360 fans posted all those NG2 vs MGS4 threads :| The funny thing is that if NG2 scores lower than Sigma...well 'nuff said.

and when did we start ignoring GS reviews?
Since they've been going against the general trend of the gaming community. Meh, i don't know when. I think it was after the Assasins creed and Mass Effect mix up. I'm pretty sure NG2 won't be getting an AAA score if it has frame-rate issues, a horrible camera systems, and mis matched difficulty curve.

well past team ninja games never had frame rate issues..im pretty sure the camera system that was a problem for some in NG has been fixed in NG2....and the developers have added a easier mode for the casual gamer who cant deal with the painful difficultly.
assassin's creed didnt deserve it's score, but mass effect did. So i dont really know what you mean.
Anyone who does not think that at least a few of these lower scores are not nearly directly centered around the game's brutal level of difficulty should read the Games Radar review, lol. They pretty much just ripped on it for the entire 3 page review, and he even pretty much stated he is not a part of the NG fanbase who love games like this because they are so challenging.
I have to give the guy credit for being hilarious though. He said that the visuals were so ugly in places, that it is about as interesting as looking at a background of toenail clippings. He also said that some of the graphics in places have not looked so bad since PS2's graphics were next gen, lmao.
He hated on the game so much, (mainly because he got his ass handed to him) that I am surprised he even gave it a 7. Then you have more reputable sites like IGN giving it an 8.7, and actually saying that the challenge is what makes it so satisfying....in typical NG fashion of course. Go figure.
Why would reviewers expect anything less from the sequel to a game like NG? Do they not remember the reason the first one became an instant classic? Or maybe they have just been spoiled by reviewing all of the shiny, more accessible next gen games since the first NG came out, that they came in unprepared for a such raw game that kicks your ass faster than you can say, "WTF just happened?"
Anyway, for those who have not read the Games Radar review already, read it for the comic factor, if anything. The guy is actually pretty funny in what is obviously a vent of his frustrations, lol. Frustrations that only a game like NG can cause. But is that not why we love it, lol?

Man, that review was brutal. I am one of the few who didnt find ng, ngb, or ngs hard. Maybe this game will be fun for me. On the other hand it is getting some harsh reviews, it could be that this just is not near as good as the first. First day buy for me anyway. IM a ninja badass

Well, I personally find NG to be probably the hardest game I have ever played on normal difficulty. But then, that is why I loved it so much. I want games that challenge me to the core and make me a better player, despite the frustrations. As when you finally beat the game, the reward is all the sweeter and it becomes a game that you remember forever for the challenge it provided and unforgettable moments you had while playing it.
These are the same factors that I think will make NG II worth every cent in the end for me. As I know that it will not be a game I can sit down and breeze through in 2 evenings like most of the other action games on offer. Even though GOW is my favorite action series for what it offers as an overall package, the challenge that NG provides and it's gameplay stand at the pinnacle of core action games in my opinion. And I expect no less a challenge and masterful gameplay from NG II. And generic story, dipping framerate and lack luster graphics will not ruin a bit of it for me either.
[QUOTE="Kritical_Strike"]So...3 A's, 2 AA's and 3 AAA's. I've never seen a game get such mixed reviews. Although the lower reviews seem to whine too much about difficulty.thrones
Where were the 3 AAAs from? Anyway, it's about unfair difficulty rather than just difficulty.
yeah
yus
yep
And apparently the difficulty is "cheap" compared to some reviewers, yet other reviewers claim that it only requires you to become a better player. The latter was certainly the case with NG1.

strange how people are ignoring the 8's & 9's and are only focusing on gameradar's review which was painful to read.

I'm gonna say 8.5 but i'll take DMC any day
So is it safe to assume the rest of the major reviewers (1up, Gamespot, GameTrailers, etc) Are holding out to confirm a difference between the retail and review builds? Or has that already been debunked and we're due them any time now?nicenator
I cant belive they sent out bunk disks. Thats just stuiped. No one checks these things?

add another AAA to it..EGM also gave NG2 a AAA rating...and this is a love it or hate it game...if you can't get into the combat that is just like doing the same boring moves over and over..most likely you will give it a 7

Eurogamer says they've got the final off the shelf PAL version, though that may be just what Team Ninja told them that the review copies are exactly the same as the shelf copies when in fact...they were wrong!
I'm curious, could Team Ninja perhaps take the game back and do further development? The only time I remember someone do that was when Valve released a game and it only got 60s on metacritic, so they redid it totally and took it back.

If its a bad as some review sites are making it out to be, maybe they should take it back to development. NGb is one of my favorite games of all time, I would prefer a good sequel. I never found the other games hard so my review maybe different.

It's strange; it has two 7/10 reviews.... so that makes me think it could flop. But then i just watched that "first 10 minutes" video and it looks absolutely badass.
