Averaging A where?
Two scores. One 70%, one 87%... I think it got AAA- in EGM but that mags not out yet...This topic is locked from further discussion.
[QUOTE="LordoftheVacas"]
Im talking about technical issues, the review build of the game had frame problems but the retail version didnt suffer from that at all.
Slashkice
...and you know this...how?
They are talking about Lost Odyssey where the review was done on a review build and not the actual retail version. The same thing might be happening here.
Hmm...
I've been looking forward to NG2 since it was announced. I absolutely adored Ninja Gaiden Black, despite its ridiculous story and occasionally frustrating camera, because the combat engine was brilliant, and the difficulty curve was punishing, but never cheap or maddening.
I'm pretty sure I got on the AAA hype train early, and it may fail to deliver on that. If so, oh well. But from what I've read of the reviews, Ninja Gaiden 2 sounds like the original Ninja Gaiden, but with combat that is even faster and more brutal than ever. And that's all I really want. I'll take the camera from Black, tough difficulty, and an absurd story if I get the most refined action combat engine in existence.
I'm still going to get this game, and I'll love every minute.

*uses cows logic* This game was never hyped........Only the fakeboys were hyping this game not the real lems.
So when your lemming logic fails you, you use cow logic :?It was a joke........ I dont care either way, I never hype games I just buy and play them.
if NG2 does flop, then the smart thing for the cows to do would be to rise above it and not reduce themselfs to the childish level that we're shown by the lems when haze flopped. otherwise they just make themself look as bad
Has anyone noticed on a lot of these gameplay videos, people fail at using the BLOCK button?
Do they think this is Devil May Cry? Dodge and evade? This is NG, damn it. Block button am required.
Despite the fact I am fully expecting (and wanting) a relelntlessly challenging/frustrating game, a few of these points by Eurogamer does make it seem like they overkilled it in certain areas....on purpose, I'm sure. A few of the concerning points were things like:
"It throws exploding kunai at you the second you walk through a door, from enemies you can't even see yet. It tantalises with the possibility of clever solutions or stealth (you are a bloody ninja, after all), allowing you to shoot out searchlights, and then instantly respawns the searchlights and bombards you with long-range rockets again." Eurogamer
Of course NG had respawning enemies if you turned around and went through an area twice, but this is sounding like they have ratcheted it up a notch, lol. All in all though, we all should have known that the sequel to NG would be nothing less than a teeth grinding, blood shot, screaming to the top of your lungs experiment in frustration, lol. So polish your dragon swords, because I have a feeling that much like the first one, beating NG II is going to be considered a worthy accomplishment amongst gamers.

No! Its gonna be funny watching the owning and the damage control and the owning again (Sigh) Times like that I love system Wars! Its gonna be mad if it gets 7.0 here but the true fans of the series wouldn't even care, and most of the cows are gonna be hypocrites and say that Gamespot matters not Gamrankings ( if it gets AAA there) But I can't wait for MGS4 to come out though, everything hangs on it. if it gets AAAA or AA it would be the biggest thing since the TP incident, There will be tears! There will be account suicides! And this is the only place it will happen in! in Gamespot! in System Wars! BECAUSE!

Meant this:
The review build discs seens to be flawed, like the code has bugs and is giving the game longer loading times and bad framerates, and the retail version is not suffering those issues.

On very hard, you say? Hell, the game is 'very hard' for me just on normal, lol. But, yeah, it goes back to what I said. We all knew and should have expected that the sequel was going to be quite the test just based on the first one alone. Just think how pissed we would all have been if they completely watered it down.:| Itagaki couldn't make it easy on us....not with his ego, lol.
It just means that it is going to be a game that lasts us longer, hence, we will reap every cent worth as we work through the frustration, all the way to a rewarding conclusion. Making the game worth every penny as a result in the end.

I agree. The game would have to take steps backwards with its combat engine to upset me, and it's quite obvious it's done nothing if not advance it more (I really can't wait to use some of those new weapons).
All I want is the demo, dammit. Didn't they say May? I know the game is out in a week but still.
Interesting to note that when you drop the resolution, the framerate issues go away...Dreams-Visions
It seems like some of the review sites mentioning framerate problems played the game in 1080p and then dropped it to 1080i. Don't ask me why they would drop it to 1080i when this game is supposed to run at 60 fps and not 720p. NG2 could also be native 720p or even lower.

Ninja Gaiden AI has always been tons smarter when played at very hard and above difficulty settings. The block usually works but u also have to move while blocking because the AI is so good that if u get too close, the enemy usually will grab u. I think when it really gets tough and u are put in a situation where u cant block, what I found very useful was using the walls as a cheap move to take out enemies. I wouldnt call it cheap though because the AI in ninja gaiden games are just that damn good that u have to find a way to level the playing field especially when u are fighting bosses and then they have those little enemies as distractions, the wall jump which I like to call it is the way I usually take out a croud of enemies. but u also gotta move. I also hear that the AI in ninja gaiden 2 are alot smarter and if u hold block too long and are not moving around while blocking the AI will grab u almost every time on more difficulty settings. I love the difficulty in ninja gaiden games, its what drives me to feel like a true master ninja.

What are you talking about? I was defending the game before? and so what if it scores AAA and its the best game ever, The point is I don't like the game cause I don't enjoy it! and if your gonna start using IGN then the PS3 would have like 6 AAAE on there, so that makes your argument of PS3 having no good exclusives garbage since 6 games already are better than your beloved NG2, Next time don't make yourself look stupid ok?

After 3 years on gamespot I'm proud to present my first prediction for a game score. 9.0Crash6
i agree, 8.7 is still a pretty damed good score, im sick of all these cows saying FLOP. its not a flop scince its only 0.3 off its pedicted score. how is that a flop? the games ive enjoyed most this year have scored lower than 9.0 on some sites. its not like it got a 4.5 or anything
