It could be dead depending on how the scorpio is priced. Microsoft itself said it would have a "premium" price, so yeah its going to be really expensive and if its too expensive its going to fail no matter how powerful it is.

some aggressive pricing by sony there, thank god I didn't buy a ps4 to play no man's sky.

There's really no point in me upgrading at all unless my current PS4 breaks and even then, I'd rather get a slim or original PS4.

Notice how Sony wisely stayed away from talking GPU specs. They don't want to be unfavorably compared with the much stronger Scorpio.
