Dude, keep it up. I think I'm actually starting to get high on SCII hype. I keep waking up and thinking "Today is a great day. All is right in the world, now that Blizzard has announced Starcraft II." Just knowing about the game is like a mood elevating drug.

I haven't been this excited about a game announcement, ever.

It's destroying my capacity for rational thought. Every time Starcraft 2 crosses my mind it turns it to mush. That's why I can't hype it in a more coherent manner.

Absolutely not, in all seriousness.  The happiness has just nerfed my brain, and you seem capable of talking up the potential for the game without drooling, so I'm encouraging your efforts.

I think Starcraft is the first PC game that I really and truly loved, so the announcement of a sequel is so awesome.  I haven't played the game in years, but I can't think of another game announcement for any platform that would make me this pleased.

They are similar in terms of artistic style, but the graphics are MUCH better. So are the physics and the mechanics. Did you see the gameplay video? It looks terrific. 

No I haven't.  I just went to the blizard site and looked at the screenies.  You'd think the TC would create a link to valuable info, but I guess that's too much of assistance for us.  And that allows others to create new topics about SC2 just so the mod can lock them again.

New rule should be when a thread gets sticky the first post (Topic Creator) is responsible for keeping the first post up-to-date with useful info and links.

I just read in the Chronicle this morning that within the last 48 hours, the number of heart attack patients has increased by 25% in South Korea. I wonder why?LockeAteid

Then the screen blackens and the Starcraft logo appears.

Could this mean that Zerg have invaded planet Earth? How will the Protoss fit in to this movie!?

There is only one gameplay movie, and the quality is not very high. I'm sure that when Blizzard puts it on their website it will be a high quality.

Yikes, Blizzard seems to have failed to put up the video on time. :? 

i dont like how long it takes to kill marines, THEY ARE MARINES! zealots should be able to destroy them easily but it looked like the marines survived too long!

i overall love the new look, but i am a bit iffy, i just dont like how it seems to take forever to kill a unit... especially if a tank cant kill draggons or zealots by the 2 or 3rd shot!

But I have to say... why did they have to create those fu**ing "immortals"???!!!!!   ...I LOVE TANKS!!!!!!!!

Marines can easily dispose of the Immortals. There will be a counter to everything in Starcraft 2.

The shields are strong but they probably have really low health (like Archons).

I've got a question about the Immortals' sheilds. They repel heavy attacks, so is that the normal shield for them and small arms do damage directly to their health?Copy_Snake

They have normal shields as well, like all protoss units.

I do wonder when the special shield is activated after experiencing a very powerful attack, do they also repel small arms attacks?

Check out the developer's roundtable. Apparently the game has been in development since they got done with WC3 TFT. Also, the game is very far in development. Here's to hoping there are no delays.

Starcraft 2 will have a more powerful editor than WC3, I'm droolin' over that alone.

I hope they increase the game size limit from 8 players.

Not that's not how it works at all. The special shields on the Immortals only activate when they recieve a very strong attack (like when they're attacked by a siege tank). Whereas if they only recieve a light attack, say from a Reaper, the special shielding doesn't activate. This is all explained in the presentation.
