Wow, so where are the cows now? Any cow want to even TRY and say that HS was not hyped AAA? Some tried to say Lair was not hyped AAA even though it was by them. So what's the next Cow game to get over hyped? Cows are getting burned again.swanleethey're simply not here today. been a bad day for Cows:
1.) Heavenly Sword geting roasted by IGN
2.) UT3 getting locked at 30fps after all the 60fps hype.
3.) Lair & Warhawk PSM reviews being confirmed, and consipracy theories destroyed.
Not a good day, friends.
I did a play though on the day (and before) we sent the version which became the US master to format.
It took me 9.5 hours on normal only getting about half the glyphs and I can (almost) literally do the army portions of the game with my eyes shut (and have been working on it for 3.5 years so might have picked up a few hints to the rest of the game as well )
So if your my level of expertise (i'd admit to not be being the best gamer) I'd be surprised if you can do it under 10 hours.
Hell mode would take considerable longer, I'm not sure I could do it.

[QUOTE="bad82man82"]I wanna add something, I didn't see anything for GeOW and I bought it cuz my friend told me"this game is good, a lot of people I know said it is great" so I did buy it with no back up at all, and the game turned out fine, that's before coming here in SW, SW poisoned me with it's standards LOL, you talk about review before anything else, for me, reviews are the last thing I see and I see it after finishing the game, all I do is watch some pictures of the game am interested in,or play a demo then I wait until it comes out, then I buy it, I don't like to see a lot of videos or pics though, cuz I think it is some how of spoilers, after that I see the reviews then make some comments like if they didn't score it well I say" they don't know what they are talking about, Im sure they suck at that game that's why they said gameplay is bad, or they are blind that's why they gave graphics under 7", in other words I see my taste of games, in the real world, nobody cares about reviews, people go to the retail, they see what is released, they pick up games that looks appealing then buy it, in real world, developers like Capcom, Square, Sony, MS, Nintendo..etc, didn't stop from making new games/sequels cuz they didn't like reviews, in the 80s, 90s, do you think there was even something called review, even so nobody cared at all, they say" this is from Capcom, I'll buy it then", this is the real world.
Do you really think that before I buy a car, I will see a review in the internet? Noooooo, I will go to the car dealer, test drive it then buy it, Because I loved this car from first sight( first pic for games).

in other words "DAMAGE CONTROL"
No damage control here, Im talking in general, Is it really that your feelings will be hurt if scores went bad? I don't think so, will you not play the game? no, you will buy it no matter what, if for example Halo 3, MP, mass effect, SMG, HS and uncharted flopped, ask yourself, does it really matter? You will buy these games no matter what they score.

Reminds me of what the Kameo devs had to say about its games' length. some people just play to finish. they don't explore. Even though Kameo could last 20 hours if exploring, it was only like 12 if you just played to win.
If Ninja Theory is expecting the masses to hunt and explore instead of search for each and every fight and keep it pushing, they'll be in the the same surprise the Kameo devs were in for.
one again im amazed how cows get everyone on the boards excited for these games. heavenly sword never did look like more than a god of war rip off. as soon as i saw it i knew it wouldnt be that good. So why all the hype simple it looked good man i just wish people learn and start hyping the ps3 games that actually deserve itGen007
It had some unique concepts that made it stand out from God of War in clear ways. But yea...not quite what it was supposed to be.

The one lemmings fail to remember. It was Hyped AA here and flopped so badly.

You speak the truth... all of this with the reviews is purely for the "ownage rights"... and as that goes, cows are taking ownage today. Even if it is only one review... the likelihood is that this game will only score AA now. And even I though this one would be AAA (and I don't even hype games on these forums).
But does that mean the game is not worth playing anymore? HELL NAW!!! If that were the case, none of us would be playing ANY games on our systems no matter which systems we owned. Face it, there's just not an abundance of AAA games on any of the systems.... but there are still plenty of awesome games to play no matter which system you own.

yeah im just getting tired of it. any game that comes out and look pretty is suddenly declared best game in all the worlds and imo those graphics shattering games are usually not fun when you play them they are just good to look at

99 Nights?
I did not play 99 Nights... but in the case of HS, they did not even bash the gameplay, the praised it! The review actually calls the gameplay brilliant! The only problem the reviewer states that they have with the gameplay is the pacing. That's something that's going to be pretty subjective....
I agree with their opinions on lasting value. But from what they read about the break up of combat vs. puzzles is what I expected from the game in the first place... so I hardly even see that being an issue.
[QUOTE="OmegaOrtega"]People are having fun dissing the Playstation fans.
But hey it's their fault for hyping Heavenly Sword, even after the lackluster demo. Oh well atleast the game shows what the PS3 can do graphically lol.
I predict the press avg for HS to be 7.8-8.3
CajunShooter
First off the demo wasn't lackluster and I am still going to enjoy all these games no matter what they score. They aren't terrible games they are still good games.
Dude w/e. The gameplay in the demo is a clean indicator to someone who has played, God of War, DMC, or Ninja Gaiden extensively that Heavenly Sword's gameplay is lackluster.
And I didn't say the game was terrible.. Would you like me to?
Been a few months since I pulled this pic out. (called it!)

it has been awhile since I've seen that one.
I wonder though...did anyone @ Factor 5 know that game was going to lay an egg? Like...don't their quality control people and game testers speak up?
Same at Ninja Theory. Someone had to notice the gameplay wasn't crisp.

And I think that this was kind of the reviewer's point. Of the games you named, GOW is my favorite. The combat in HS is easily better than any that you named....... but there's not a whole lot more to it. What makes GOW so great isn't really the combat, it's how it brings all the elements together. And according to the review... that's what HS missed.

yea man...maybe they just hit a point of no return, where it's neither profitable to start all over, nor is it profitable to continue to tweak what's already made. then they just say "aaaaaw **** it" and release the game.

Well what I've read on Heavenly Sword so far doesn't sound bad... I think Ninja Theory still put out a great game, perhaps just not what it was hyped up to be.
However, the guys at Factor 5 really dropped the ball from what I've read. Because at some point, someone should have spoke up and said the game needs to have the option for analog control!
More proof that you can have both good graphics and gameplay or meh graphics and good gameplay, but not great graphics and meh gameplay.
7's not horrible or anything, but not exactly amazing or even great.

I actually have to disagree here. If that review is truly a fair reflection of this game, the scores are being propped up by solid graphics and sound almost exclusively. A gameplay experience that only scores a 6...man, that's something that may not be fun to play more than once at all.
Again, did you read the review? the reviewer said there is no more than 3 or 4 fun hours of gamplay in this game...and only 7 total. If that's true, this is a big-budget rental at best.

We know the story in Heavenly Sword will be entertaining. I never for a second doubted that. I have always had concerns about the gameplay...especially in a genre where we've been spoiled by the likes of Ninja Gaiden, God of War and Devil May Cry. I think it's fair to say that a gameplay experience noticably less enjoyable than those 3 games is a gameplay experience worth only a rental.
but that's just me.
