You missed Galactic Civilisations 2.

So that leaves the PC with 9 non-expansion AAAe games (ignoring games that weren't reviewed, and games that got higher scroes on metacritic, etc.), which still means that it has the most AAAes of any platform.

In any case, skipping expansion packs is silly, since quite a few of them overhaul large portions of the gameplay and offer lengthy campaigns - they're as 'real' as sequels like MW2 or Gears 2.

They attack the graphics, then the game play and then PC's line-up by arguing Crysis is our only decent game.

And some games like Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead should only be played on a PC. Thats why I think its stupid to own an Xbox 360 if you own a gaming PC unless all your friends have an Xbox 360.

The only thing we can derive is that all platforms have pretty good games and the proof of that is that they all have large and sometimes fanatical followings.

It's a matter of preference. I would never trade an AA RTS such as Anno 1404: Dawn of Discovery for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves or Halo 3. Console gamers usually says: "but it's a RTSs, meh!". People forget there're a lot people who likes RTSs more than third person shooters or FPS.

There're more AA exclusives on PC that looks more appealing to me than most of the AAA from consoles. In 2009 for example, I enjoyed Empire: Total War, Cryostasis, Drakensang: The Dark Eye, Anno 1404: Dawn of Discovery, Plants vs. Zombies, Torchlight, Warhammer 40.000: Dawn of War II, King's Bounty: Armored Princess and Wings of Prey. I would never had the same fun playing console games, and believe me, I tried most of console exclusives from 2009. (since most of my friends are console gamers).

All consoles together? Maybe not, but it's easily my favorite system of the last 5 years.

We give him a list of games and calls them expansions has the nerve to include trash like ODST and Liberty city stories as Full Games

We give RTS and MMO games and calls them boring

I played the first Uncharted what a garbage game, typical third person shooter did nothing new and had terrible gunplay. Story was a ripoff Indiana Jones. I haven't played the second Uncharted cause I dont like expansions :)

i went to pc cus i heard that it has so many great games. but where are they? i go to like any game store and they have one tiny shelf in the back of the store .

i loved pc games in the late 90s and early 2000 . But this gen its not the same .

Yes... But to be more thorough...

Whether or not a game is better is also subjective to opinion, and my opinion on that is that it is actually a fact. PC does in fact have better controls. Why? Because the PC can use any and every modern controller. M/Kb, 360's JoyPad, Dualshock 3, other game pads, Novin Falcon, the Wiimote (with mods), and many more.

In dealing with mods, they don't just add to games. Many people have created entirely new games with the Source engine, CryEngine, CryEngine 2, Unreal Engine 3, and others. Not just small games but fully fledged out games with story, plot, cutscenes, voice actors and more.

As for games, again, this is sublective to opinion and in my opinion, yes, the PC has more games to offer and those game are better than what is offered on the current batch of consoles and handhelds. If you want I can give examples and explain why I feel this way.

Even if it were 27 million. That's not much lower than the console sales, on top of the fact that many places in Europe and especially countries like China etc, still have a large retail for PC games.

Also, what you are quoting is nothing more than a guess by Stardock:

Also, those numbers were estimates on dollars generated per month. So in essence, those numbers could be off, as not every user downloads a game every month.

Also, what 100+ AAA games? On System Wars there are 27 AAA games, and over 100 AA games. Seems like you misunderstood.

steam has 20 million users and they have 70% of the market . I don't like downloads . when i spend my money , i want some thing to show for it . I think pc gaming is great . However i really don't see it to be the be all end all place to game . Reason why i came back to me is because i heard about so many games . But i really am having a problem find games that i like .

I love my PC, but it's not going to replace my xbox and wii for games like NHL 10 and Dragonball Z BT3 or Smash Bros. And I have a lot more friends who own the 360 version of games like Borderlands and MW2. The PC is good for RTS games, which is an experience you just can't pull off on a console.

I do believe that this was already explained to you before but here we go again. STEAM said that they had over 20 million in Feb 2009. This mean that assuming that the 70% number is correct, there was over 27 million DD users a year ago. However, this year steam reported just short of 100% growth in revenue. Other DD sites reported 55% or more. While we cant say for sure if the increase in revenue equals a similar growth in increase in memebers it's certainly a strong indicator. All things said, based on the numebrs available it looks like we're closer to 50 mill DD users than we are to 27 mill.

Bf2 needs a shout top game best multiplayer ever,came out nearly 5 years ago.

First, it hurts PC because if games appear on PC and consoles, the majority of the gaming public will likely choose the console version for various reasons in spite of the graphic hit. That is what has been happening.

Which is weird, because I can name several PC games that came out in 2009 that I enjoyed much more than Uncharted 2. To be honest, I think Uncharted was the most overrated game of 2009, except for maybe ODST.
