Why would anyone go with Onlive? It's just streaming and you pay just to basically rent the games, you don't own any of them at all. Sorry while I think DD is going to happen in the future eventually, as of right now it's a joke. Just use Steam instead, it's far better plus you get to keep the game you bought and you will save money too.
ShadowMoses900
Because you can buy games for $5 instead of $60? Just a guess.
You just rent games off of Onlive, you don't actually own any of them. And Steam has great deals and it's free too, I recommend that you go check it out.
I have a crap computer and a fast internet connection and my ps3 got stolen. OnLive is perfect for me. And you never "own" games, just the license, just like I do with OnLive. Oh, and my games can NEVER again be stolen because OnLive takes good care of them for me :)

There's so many people on Homefront Onlive is because it has no other games.

Hmm.. Let's see.. OnLive has
OnLive has a good selection of games. It's great to see Rockstar Games hopped on board not too long ago. ^_^
Where is BF3, Crysis 1, Crysis Warhead, StarCraft 2, The Witcher 2, STALKER expansions, Skyrim, etc.More reasons to avoid this, lol.
It makes PC gaming simple. Which is the major problem with PC gaming.LOXO7
How is Onlive related to PC gaming?

It's running games released for the PC platform.
In other news, League of Legends has a user base of 32 million.... so ya.
The quality was horrific, when I tried it at it's UK launch. To me, my PC makes the service completely redundant.

Ugh just so bad. It's not cause it's ponies, that certainly makes it worse, but I hate it when people take a bunch of clips and put them together in an attempt to sync it with some kind of music or movie or something.

I don't blame you.If they count every account created then it's a fake number. I have an account, ran the service once and never bothered again ...

[QUOTE="campzor"][QUOTE="Da_lil_PimP"] HAHAAH!! he shoots, he scores But that wasn't even the point of my argument. :? But you talked about how Onlive users are more loyal to games than other systems. There's so many people on Homefront Onlive is because it has no other games.

Let's put it this way...
OnLine is like you want to buy a new TV. OnLive let's you buy the TV and you can watch 50 channels on it, but you can't take the TV home, you need to watch it on display from outside the dity shop window. You can change channels, but you cant touch anything else
Any other place that sells TVs lets you take the TV home and watch 150 channels. You can do whatever you want with the TV once it's home
[QUOTE="SW__Troll"]Of course not, you don't even own a copy of the game, it states in the terms and conditions that even when you buy a game Onlive reserve the right to remove it at anytime. Can you mod your games in OnLive?
If not then count me out.
MushroomWig
To be fair, with every DD service (including Steam) you don't own your games. You only buy a license to use them, which they can terminate at any time they want. It doesn't mean that they are going to use that right often, but in some cases, like with people who are breaking their rules, they can use it.
the biggest contribution to gaming onlive provides is making ps3 guys feel better about their multiplats.

Same thing with disk-based games iirc.
It's just you actually have a disk with a hard copy.
[QUOTE="LOXO7"]It makes PC gaming simple. Which is the major problem with PC gaming.Da_lil_PimPHow is PC gaming hard?Well, considering the nerdgasms I get, something is definitely hard about PC gaming...or for.
That's exactly what they're doing. Pure and simple desperation. This is the first Onlive thread I've seen in months. If they count every account created then it's a fake number. I have an account, ran the service once and never bothered again ...

It's a commonly cited figure... however it isn't one that is particularly important.

Mmmhmm...you only own the rights to use the disk, you dont own the data on it. The poor thing about onLive is, you can't even access the game files you purchased, unlike every other form of obtaining a game. So say Skyrim came to OnLive....you'd have no way of installing any mods or doing any .ini file tweaks or viewing your save game files[QUOTE="percech"]Why is everyone here so against Onlive? Integrated online community with tournaments clips etc. No argument there.
No need to update your games. Hope it updates automatically like Steam, would be odd playing unpatched games.
Every system can play it, soon even phones and tablets if I'm not mistaken. Not well as of now.
You can use keyboard+mouse or a controller wherever you like. Good point.

I honestly expected more. Seriously? I thought those were some pretty good points. You also never need to hassle with graphic drivers, or upgrading your pc. And the phones and tablets stream the games quite well as of now, you can just not play them now, but that was originally announced to come in the autumn of 2011, if I'm not mistaken. Please Log In to post.
