He says that OnLive won't wipe out consoles overnight. It will be a very gradual process.
He pretty much repeats everything I said here in System Wars. :P

That's 20 years from now, who cares, are you really going to be playing video games when you're 40 years old?
Yea.That's 20 years from now, who cares, are you really going to be playing video games when your 40 years old?

I will, what's so wrong about it??
On topic: if pachter said that, your precious OnLive is screwed Riku.
what makes video games any different than any other entertainment medium? That's 20 years from now, who cares, are you really going to be playing video games when your 40 years old?

Did you hear about the Homefront special w/ the free Onlive Console, Riku? Because someone posted it on here last night, and that is unacceptable because you are the only person that is allowed to give us Onlive news:P
The guy can't predict what will happen next year and I am supposed to believe he can predict whats going to happen 20 years from now?
Fizzman
Patcher is so oblivious and stupid he can't predict what hes gonna say next.
Cloud gaming = LOL. Until the USA gets a network overhaul it'll be just as much fail as it is today. Will I care? Nope. My games will remain on PC locally.
Another failed OnLive marketing ploy by Riku.
he makes as many "predictions" as he can then prays that one of them eventually hits the mark, lolThe guy can't predict what will happen next year and I am supposed to believe he can predict whats going to happen 20 years from now?

Yeah. That's an awesome deal. A free console AND a free Metro 2033 playpass. :oOnLive exists right now. :?RikusakiDo you work for the OnLive marketing department or something? So what if OnLive exists right now?

Im not going to get into it right now, because it always ends up as a crapstorm, but I think you already know what I'm gonna say.
I am 38. Why would you stop? Because someone else expects you to?That's 20 years from now, who cares, are you really going to be playing video games when you're 40 years old?

I agree.
It's just another bad video game stereotype. Would you stop reading books when you're 40? Would you stop watching movies at 40? No. What makes video games any different?
Personally, I will fight personally adopting a system like OnLive. Cloud computing is far to flawed for me to consider it the future.
That seems to be the exact opposite of what Pachter predicts, so yes, that is likely correct. :Ppachter said it?
Does this mean consoles will dominate everything in 2030? :P
Half-Way
[QUOTE="DerpyMcDerp"][QUOTE="Rikusaki"] I can play right now. I don't have to wait for it to dominate the market. ;)RikusakiAnd? The experience is no different than what I experience when I play the game locally on my computer, so... I don't need high-end hardware. I never have to upgrade again. I just have my netbook and microconsole.
You also have no personal security... OnLive suddenly pull there service, your screwed. Earthquake hits the Onlive servers, your screwed. Cables go down, your screwed. Heck, some security dude takes a piss on the servers, your screwed.
All I need is an electrical generator and I can still play games on my PC....
Oh my God you will be so old. I will only be 48.:PIn 2030 I will be 55 years old so I could care less who dominates it.
danjammer69
Any of that can happen anywhere. Do the laws of physics only permit natural disasters to occur at OnLive Data Centers? :lol:You also have no personal security... Did I ever say they did
I gave examples of situations that would prevent you from gaming, but that would not effect me... I can play games without internet on my PC. Can you on OnLive?

The chances of that happening are very, very slim. Also, if one data center is down, the others are available until the other is fixed. There are currently five data centers in the United States.[QUOTE="Urworstnhtmare"][QUOTE="Rikusaki"] Any of that can happen anywhere. That is a rediculous argument and you know it. If the Black Ops servers were down for a mere five minutes, hell would break loose.
OnLive isn't stupid. They have back-up servers all across the nation. If something happened, you wouldn't know.

Its not a RIDICULOUS argument, because its fact. I can live without Black Ops Multiplayer. If anything, lose of internet would actually help me go through my backlog of SINGLE PLAYER GAMES THAT I DO NOT NEED AN INTERNET CONNECTION TO PLAY.
Well, I will be like 57 years old by then, so hopefully I will still be into gaming! I may actually be in the clouds by then!LOl
