Where are the Half Life 2's, Crysis, Battlefield 2/2142, UT2K4, Doom 3, etc. PC destroying games that used to exist in the past?

Star Citizen?

Total War Series?

Elite Dangerous?

UT?

Quake Champions?

VR games?

These days there's like ten times more "PC destroying" games than there ever was, not only due to number of actually demanding PC exclusives that peasants like to pretend don't exist, but the fact that most multiplats have a bouquet of PC-exclusive hardware-melting graphical options, latest example being raytracing.

Nevermind that the 2 most popular genres on the planet have spawned from PC gaming in the last 10 years (MOBA and Battle Royale" something peastants will never want to admit and rely on Movie Critic's scores to pretent corridor shooters are somehow leagues better more interesting games despite having a fraction of the userbase.

It's dying. Rapidly.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/308330/number-stream-users/

Do you honestly think that the numbers don't go up and down?

Valve recently announced that Steam now has 90 million monthly active users and last year of August it was announced to have 67 million users. Dying my ass. Let's just ignore that Japan's console market has shrunken nearly one third of its size a decade ago and is slowly building up a PC gaming demographic hence why more and more Japanese games are coming to PC and a growing Japanese playerbase on Steam.

I like how nearly all the cows except the OP ignored my list because it goes against their narrative.

To be fair @freedomfreak is far more of an Xbox fan than a Sony fan

Anyway you should know by now that list of PC games don't count for a multitude of reasons and when those reasons don't stick the goal posts move. It always ends with PC doesn't get first party Sony exclusives. I wonder where their arguments will go once PSN is getting Sony "exclusives" at launch?

@brah4ever: You are right. I just bought an nvidia 1060gtx after my amd 7870 died. I wasn't in the market for a video card, but this card a mid range card makes all my old games maxed, nothing I have really pushes it at 1080p (have a 24" 1080p monitor).

I remember buying a voodoo 5 for unreal tornament and quake 2/3, theif, tomb raider etc.. A GeForce 3 for morrowind, kotor and neverwinter nights, vampire the masquerade, half-life 2, farcry, nolf, etc.. A GeForce 6800gt for Oblivion, a 8800gts for the witcher, neverwinter nights 2, stalker and crisis. Then a 9800gt when that died. The 7870 got me to ps4 level. Now with the 1060gtx the benchmarking was fun for a few days but there is no exclusives really that showcase that gen of cards.

Where is the new stalker games (dev is dead). Where is a new Quake, or a new Crysis graphics powerhouse. It seems that most games on pc these days are indies, or multiplayer free to play crap like fortnight or some other millennial trend game, or games I like on pc that don't even require high end graphics (roguelikes and strategy games).

I have been saying this for years though. I remember when pc pushed exclusives like Crysis, Stalker, Gothic, the witcher, Doom 3, neverwinter nights, etc.. that aren't mmos or free to play schemes.

For controller games, I play on ps4, because my tv is huge and games like RDR2, GOW etc, aren't' on pc.

You speak as if games like Star Citizen and Hunt: Showdown don't exist. Not to mention, World War 3 and other exclusives.

That's also implying that indie games can't be graphically impressive take a look at an upcoming PC game called War Of Rights, that surely is no potato game.

They'll just say we're playing the inferior version like they're starting to do now yet at the same time they seem to have no problem playing the inferior version of 99% of all multiplats on their consoles.

I like dumping these list to see how consolites will damage control and dodge the response. At this point cows have created so many arbitrary filters on what counts as a good game they're basically admitting that they believe only Sony exclusives which shows how biased they are and incredibly weakens their "AAA games" argument.

Make that three since the survivalcraft genre is also another huge genre that originated from PC this decade and even inspired the battle royale genre.

You'l just get a dumbass response like "Star Citizen is just vapourware" despite having a tangible product that is clearly (granted slowly) becoming a full game, and looks better than anything on consoles and will have a scale far beyond anything on consoles.

@kali-b1rd: That is why I stopped including Star Citizen in my list, because they'll immediately use Star Citizen as their attempt to derail the focus of the entire list to just that game because they believe that is the only AAA and graphically impressive PC game so they like to use that as the center of attention so they don't have to acknowledge the other games and keep going with their narrative of PC not having any games.

Wow this thread reminds me of how late 90s and early 2000s gaming forums look like. Surreal shit.

And it seems like most consoles are totally out of touch with how dynamic and vibrant the pc gaming scene is that even the biggest console developers just cannot kill it or even hurt it, even at the peak of piracy lol

Why only exclusive matters? also neither Doom 3 nor Half life 2 were exclusives

Halflife i missed. we need HL3 but anywas

Crysis now replaced by Metro Exodus which is doing what crysis did but even in bigger scale

Doom 3 replaced by far superior Doom reboot and Doom Eternal.

Battlefield 2? see world war 3.

There's no purpose or advantage to bumping a 2 month old thread.
