PC Graphics are overrated by this forum

A new day, a new battle, feels good to be back in system wars

Since PS3 and Wii released PC has been absolutely slaughtered when it comes to Gamespots Best Graphics awards. In fact Crysis is the only PC Game series to ever win Gamespots Best Technical Graphics Award. 2006 Technical: Gears of War Artistic: Okami 2007 Technical: Crysis Artistic: Super Mario Galaxy 2008 Technical: MGS4 Artistic: Valkyria Chronicles 2009 Technical: Uncharted 2 Artistic Muramasa 2010 Technical: God of War 3 Artistic: Mass Effect 2 2011 Technical: Crysis 2 Artistic: Alice Madness ReturnsGioVela2010

I agree completely, there are console games which look just as good. Most of the time, the PC version of games add nothing outside of beetter AA and better resolution. People act like the game is completely overhauled or something and its not. However, you can't even argue with people that Uncharted 3/Halo 4 looks as good as the PC version of Fear 2 around here. Why? Because its on PC. Go figure lol. I think the consensus here is that you have to say PC>>>all or youre considered a fanboy, even by Cows/Lems. Thus, people are afraid to really say what they feel. One guy actually said the PC version of Tomb Raider Legend looks better than UC2 :lol:

Gamespot solely defines the metagame. Anything else is completely up for debate.

Mirror's Edge should have won '08... or '09 'cause of the delay for the PC version.

those awards are more of a tribute to the devs than the systems they are on...

I didnt realize what I was missing till I saw games running on a nice rig, it even makes older games look fantastic.

Lol, if anything PC graphics are massively underestimated by loads of clueless consolites who base their opinion on compressed Youtube videos. Basically, many idiots arguing in these forums don't even have capable enough hardware at home to experience PC graphics.

Deal with it, PC gaming makes console graphics look like crap, even the so-called "console graphics kings" :lol:

This is correct, and while I don't agree entirely with such a model, I can see where GS is coming from, gives consoles a fighting chance against the PC heavy hitters. In a way, it's good, makes sure skilled console developers get some recognition for doing a great work under severe limitations, but in a way, it's also bad, since some dumbasses like the TC interpret it completely wrong... :P

If what you are saying is true "PC Graphics are overrated" then everyone should have stayed with a 8800GTX(from 2006) that already play games with better graphics and performance than consoles.

You are totally right.

Console graphics look just as good as the graphics i see while playing games on my PC. My monitor has FOUR TIMES the resolution of PS3 and 360 games.

Well I guess sub HD and 30fps is top. Oh well, Ill just have to learn how to deal with 60fps and 1080p :P

Performance, platform, and many other factors were considered before we decided which game blew us away with its sheer visual prowess.
