that's why geow and all three halo games are rated higher at gamerankings,LOL at mgs4 being beaten by halo combat evolved

If you're going with GameRankings.com, Super Mario Galaxy beats all Halo games and the whole PS3/X360,in fact, it's the best game this gen so far according to GR.

and as I said, only GS scores count here, therefore MGS4> The entire X360 library.

memory cards are so you can bring your saved data to a friends house

Mucus Green very mature

When put one a one to one basis, yes, MGS4 betters the 360 exclusives. But overall, the 360 library>>>PS3 library (including MGS4)

by your logic Gaming is not important, HDMI looks better than component cable, and it's more advanced, maybe it's not needed, so is your Gold membership on xbl, why pay for it if it's not needed?

Voice chat is so much superior on the 360 its not even funny. I try real hard to deal with the blue tooth communication on the ps3. The voice quality is terrible and half the time you are not sure its even working or even supported in game.

opinion

Oh, have you tried to voice chat with a friend while playing another game on the ps3...YOU CANT.

It's not needed :P

Functionality-wise... the 360 downloads updates, demos and games much faster that the ps3. Not only does ps3 download slowly, but then you have to go through a second step to install the download...it is annoying.

only because you pay for it, let's see it perform that good if it's free.

The PS3 is a nice bit of hardware with some nice features, built in wireless is great. Blu Ray is great if you can afford the movies. Its sleak sexy exterior looks nice, but its a dust magnet like you would not believe, and the plastic is prone to scratches.

and arguably...the 360 controller is better than the ps3 controller.

better rumble, senesitve buttons, lighter, all these features make DS3 > Xbox 360 controller, but again, everybody has its own opinion, I personally prefer X360 for FPS and shooters, but I can't deney that the DS3 has more features.

....and then there are the games...they both have great games that are worth you time and you will find its very nice to own both machines and hopefully you will stop with all the fanboy crap.

If you already have a gaming PC, I don't think you need a X360

Lems damage control, its been confirmed that PS3 has more much more exclusives coming from 2008 and beyond and I could give you a link. The only reason 360 has more games than Wii and PS3 is: Because the 360 came out 1 year before the PS3. Also consoles get more dev support when a console is on their 2nd and 3rd year on the market while the PS3 is only 1 year old. But everyone knows the PS3 has greater amount of quality exclusives. Quality>>>>quantity.

[QUOTE="ThisCurse"]

My friend dropped by with his Xbox 360 and brought a bunch of games, we played for about 6 hours. I remember him buying this system on launch, and being a Gamecube owner, I was pretty impressed. Mainly with the High Definition and the super comfortable controllers.

Well, my friends, time has not treated this console well. I am utterly shocked at how much further advanced my PS3 is than the 360. Did you know that if you want to use a headset, it plugs into the controller? PS3 had Bluetooth. Did you know that is has an old fashioned disc tray? PS3 has slot loading. Did you know the 360 has to use MS branded hard-drive at a marked up price? PS3 uses any laptop HD. Did you know the 360 has no built in wireless? I think you already know, the PS3 does. Its not capable of playing Bluray either. Did you know it has memory card slots? So last gen! The external power brick on this thing is HUGE! The interface is cluttered and annoying. And dont get me started on those mucus-green game cases.

You know, I try to stay out of the PS3/360 debate, but the 360 is set-up like a last-gen console. Its on par with my Gamecube, its only advantage being the HD output(oh, wheres the HDMI slot, MS?) I truly feel sorry for people who bought this thing and even worse for the people who hype it. The reason my friend has not played it in 1.5 years is becuase he bought a PS3 and hasnt touched the 360 since. We tried loading some original Xbox games and after trying 9 and being denied support, we finally got Halo to work and thats it. I played a little Dead Rising, Crackdown, Perfect Dark Zero and the graphis are downright cartoony compared to PS3 titles like Uncharted and MGS4.

He left it here for me to play during the weekend, but seriously, the only reason I can muster to turn this thing on is to find another dozen reasons why my PS3 is light years ahead of this dinosaur.

Guntrix50

1. There are wireless headsets.

2. Who cares about the disc tray?

3. 360 has built in wireless O_O.

4. Memory card slots give options to gamers.

5. No blu-ray, big deal.

6. The graphical difference between the 360 and Ps3 are pretty much identical.

Lastly, the 360 has loads of more exclusives than the PS3.

Cows

wireless internet? no

yeah its my opinion.

my ps3 and 360 are both hooked up on the same router and in my experience the 360 downloads faster than the ps3. Plus the 360 has no installations after the downloads unlike the ps3. (installation for a demo? wtf?)

I agree with the orginal post. I just upgraded my PS3 HDD to 250gb. I got the hard drive for half the price of a 120gb Xbox HDD. So if you want more hard drive space you have to pay 4 TIMES AS MUCH!!!

I also don't think the games for the 360 are too good either. I mean they had Gear of War, but that was 2 years ago! What have they had since then?!?! Halo? Wow....

by your logic Gaming is not important, HDMI looks better than component cable, and it's more advanced, maybe it's not needed, so is your Gold membership on xbl, why pay for it if it's not needed?

kingfire11

Said like a person that knows absolutely nothing about HDMI. HDMI does NOT look better than component. And the difference when there is one is negligible. In fact, component is better for running over long distances and most high end A/V installers don't even like to deal with HDMI because the cable's connectors are so flimsy. The only advantage HDMI has over component is that along with the video, the digital audio signal is also transmitted throught the cable. The difference between an optical cable signal and the one that goes through the HDMI cable is ALSO negligible unless you own a receiver that can accept the 7.1 trueHD audio signal. If you are connecting HDMI into the TV there is NO ADVANTAGE AT ALL.

I love how people are bragging about a feature they know absolutely nothing about.

TC is right (most of it)

360 is a step back, not a step forward. The only thing that evolved in a positive way are the graphics.

THe online is a rip-off(and ps's online is catching up fast), no built-in wifi, no hdd, a big power block (this is a good example of a negative evolution) AND of course RROD, the curse that will strike every 360 sooner or later.

Lol if I look at this all 360=FAIL

But hey there are still some good games you can play on it....wel untill you have a RROD.

Lol at your math skills. which are nonexistant by the way.

If you paid half of what a 360 120 gig HD costs, that means you paid what, 90 dollars?

So tell me when did 4x 90 = 180?

90x4=360, ironically enough.

I agree that there all bad things about the 360.. .But really, should I actually care ??

Wi-Fi : I don't need it

BluRay : Im 480p

No HDD : That's funny, i have one

Online :I pay a tiny sum for a good, easy-to-use online service. I know i shouldn't be paying at all but really i don't mind.

RRoD : Yes, it is REALLY annoying :(

He might have meant to have the same amount of space, although that hypothetical 250GB 360 HDD doesn't exist, would cost four times more than what he paid for his harddrive.

by your logic Gaming is not important, HDMI looks better than component cable, and it's more advanced, maybe it's not needed, so is your Gold membership on xbl, why pay for it if it's not needed?

heretrix

You need to get your eye checked, I've tried both and HDMI looks slightly better.

But hey there are still some good games you can play on it....wel untill you have a RROD.

knight-k

Every 360 I've owned came with a hard drive. And I've never needed wireless, ethernet is better anyway...The power block is behind my setup, so I never see it and taking 2 years to be almost as good but not quite there for PSN is not what I'd call catching up fast. You had to wait 2 years just to be able to send a text message to your friend while playing a game. Geez, that's progress.

Im just saying, as a piece of hardware, the 360 has more in common with 6th-gen consoles, save the HD. That cluncky disc tray is just outdated and cheap looking, MS is the only one who still uses it.

And again, I am NOT trying to slam 360 owners, but only to express my sympathy. When MS strategized thier head start, they just forgot to look further into the future. And to the boy who said "mooooooooo", c'mon, MS is the only company milking this gen.

ThisCurse

You are comparing launch titles to the likes of MGS4. Of course those games aren't going to look as good. Plus a disc tray is a bad thing? I guess all those dvd and bluray players are outdated and cheap looking too cause they still have disc trays considering the ps3 also plays bluray movies and doesn't have a disc tray. You are slamming the 360 as your post is a typical cow post.

I don't need my eyes checked. You are equating difference with quality. There are many different reasons why you might see different results, but it doesn't neccessarily mean it's a BETTER result.

my mate dan bought a hi-def telly but he didn't have a proper HDMI cable and was running it on composite,so i took my HDMI cable over, i thought the picture would be better but the 360 wouldn't allow us to put it on the highest hd setting and yet the composite would, i found this strange

ThisCurse

Another thing that reaks of fanboy here is that you say crackdown, dead rising, and PDZ look cartoony. Well that is the art style for those games. Play Gears and you will change your mind. But seriously comparing launch titles to recent titles is ridiculous because over time games get better looking on any platform period. Plus you can use wireless headsets on the 360. Did you know that? Of course not. You are an uneducated gamer. When you say its on par with the GC, I assume that is an insult to say the graphics don't look any better than the GC. Well newsflash play Gears, Halo3, COD4(even though its multiplat), and other recent games then come back to me and say its on par with the GC. I guess you didn't know the 360 has an HDMI slot now. Again you are an uneducated gamer.

Some of it i guess.

Look, say it's a fact Halo 4 is going to the Ps3 (Hypothetically), yes it is a fact, but that doesn't mean i care if it comes, or if it makes any difference to me, because I've already played it.

Sorry i wasn't trying to sound fanboyish with the whole Halo 4 thing :(

No alot of it is false including the fact the TC didn't know the 360 has an HDMI slot now. He compares MGS4 and Uncharted to 2005 early 2006 titles that have an art style of a cartoony look but completely ignores better looking games like Gears, Halo 3 and COD4. The comparison is unjustified and his knowledge about the 360 is terrible. His so called "facts" are mere opinions and biased ones at that.

Edit: Oh and he obviously didn't know that there is a wireless 360 headset but the fact a standard headset is free with the 360 is better than having to buy a headset for the ps3 which its not even worth talking online on the ps3 because no one talks or you have morons that just like to scream on the headset. The headset that comes with the 360 is not even bad at all. There is a cord but the cord doesn't even get in your way. Its just nitpicking as usual.

360 headset > bluetooth. Seriously its far clearer that the wireless headsets and it doesn't impede on gaming because its attached to your WIRELESS CONTROLLER.

I got rid of my 360 once, big mistake !!!!! They are both excellent, whatever PS3 falls down on 360 picks it back up againg and visa versa, its a killer combo!!! (gtfo wii :| )

xbox live is cheap when you think it pays for the upkeep of 220,000 servers trust me sony couldn't run that many without charging for it

Not every 360 has a hdd and a hdd is necessary

every game out on the 360 runs without a hard drive, so no it's not necessary.

A big power block..LOL...I don't know any previous console that something like that. Really it's a step back, 360 is next gen? LOL hell no.

i would rather have a power brick explode outside my console, and if the ps3 does not have an external powerbrick it means the power supply is unregulated so i hope your ps3 is plugged into a surge protector, also having the power brick outside means less heat inside the console

RROD....Do I need to say more?

RROD will be gone with the jasper chipset, and when the valhalla comes out, microsoft will be the first company to put the gpu and the cpu in one chip

IMO 360 is a step back.

That was my subjective opinion.

Did you know the new PS3 aren't B/C anymore?

Did you know that even though the PS3 comes with a Blu-Ray player, the system doesn't include a HDMI cabl?

Did you know the PS3 doesn't even come with a headset (blue tooth or not)?

Did you know that know that you can download 1080P HD movie and T.V. on the 360 and watch them and the PS3 still can't?

Did you know the PS3 still doesn't come with a rumble controller until Nov?

Did you know that Mass Effect, BioShock and Gears or Warall look just as good or better then MGS4 and Uncharted?

Did you know that Sony removed the Card Readers, 2 USB ports, the extra HDMI port and the Emotion Chip from all future PS3 systems?

Did you know that there are more quality multiplat games on the 360 then the PS3 that have sold more copies.

Did you know that the PS3 on has ONE AAAE (MGS4) game after almost 2 years of being on the market.

Did you know that M$ 360's interface will be changing in the fall?

Did you know that the PS3 menu interface is the exact same as the PSP and then both suck?

Did you know that less then 65% of the PS3 games on retail shelves support online, while 99% of the 360 games support some kind of only activity.

Did you know that onl 2% of the PS3 games out right now support Trophies, why 100% of the 360 games support Achievements?

Did you know that everything you said is just your opinion, and most gamers on here really don't care? :P

IMO 360 is a step back.

That was my subjective opinion.

A saying the 360 doesn't come with a HD isn't a fact, in fact it's and outright lie. There are more models with HD's than without.

Really if you don't want cables running through your house is a CHOICE, not a necessity.

Pay for it or not IT'S STILL BETTER.

What the hell does a powerblock have to do with anything being next gen. You're reaching.

RROD? So what? It's about the only legitimate problem in the list and there is a 3 year warranty for it. I will never defend the RROD, so don't even try to make it seem like I did.

The 360 is a step back from what?

But you are entitled to your opinion just as long as you don't try and set them up as facts which you did and then tried to reverse it.Basically all of your opinions are exactly the same issues that you tried to pass off as facts in your previous post.

i would rather have a power brick explode outside my console, and if the ps3 does not have an external powerbrick it means the power supply is unregulated so i hope your ps3 is plugged into a surge protector, also having the power brick outside means less heat inside the console

RROD....Do I need to say more?

RROD will be gone with the jasper chipset, and when the valhalla comes out, microsoft will be the first company to put the gpu and the cpu in one chip

IMO 360 is a step back.

That was my subjective opinion.

[/QUOTE

I'm sorry but really that are some cheap excuses.

I don't know any console(nes,snes,psx,...) that had a power brick like the 360 and they work fine (hell even better if you think about RROD)

And about RROD...all the people who already bought a 360 at launch are f*cked because their 3year warranty will be gone...and if they have a RROD..GAME OVER (lol). BUt hey let's hope the problem will be solved with the new jasper,...

And lol LIVE is cheap?, if people like you still support this rip-of, it won't change, you'll have to pay for online on X720(or whatever) too.

Cows

360 does not have built in wireless. you have to buy it for 100 or buy the older one for 50. To the op i might be a cow but the 360 isnt that bad other then rrod its ok. It still has some good games like gears2.

That's Wifi. The controllers and headset are wireless. So yes it does have wireless that you don't have to pay for.

I know this is a joke thread, or the TC is just trying too hard. But really, as a 360 and PS3 owner i can say;

HDMI has not been important to games. I get the same nice HI Def picture from component cables as i do with the hdmi. HDMI only became useful with the Blu Ray movies. Practically every game on ps3 is 720p . At least the 360 can upscale games to 1080p via component cables...lets see the PS3 do that.

by your logic Gaming is not important, HDMI looks better than component cable, and it's more advanced, maybe it's not needed, so is your Gold membership on xbl, why pay for it if it's not needed?

Most of what The TC listed are facts, you listed your personal opinion.

sirk1264

It was my opinion on the facts.

But you can't deny that what he says is true, right?

No alot of it is false including the fact the TC didn't know the 360 has an HDMI slot now.

And what should the owners of the launch model do? F**k themselves to connect their TV's via pure HDMI??

He compares MGS4 and Uncharted to 2005 early 2006 titles that have an art ****of a cartoony look but completely ignores better looking games like Gears, Halo 3 and COD4. The comparison is unjustified and his knowledge about the 360 is terrible. His so called "facts" are mere opinions and biased ones at that.

I agree with you, but still, mgs4 and uncharted look better than anything currently released on the X360.

Halo 3 has pretty graphics?? lmao.it looks like an early title, but the gameplay is great.

Agreed.
