Played a 360 tonight, for the first time in a year and a half.

Its not capable of playing Bluray either. Did you know it has memory card slots? So last gen! The external power brick on this thing is HUGE! The interface is cluttered and annoying. And dont get me started on those mucus-green game cases.

You know, I try to stay out of the PS3/360 debate, but the 360 is set-up like a last-gen console. Its on par with my Gamecube, its only advantage being the HD output(oh, wheres the HDMI slot, MS?) I truly feel sorry for people who bought this thing and even worse for the people who hype it. The reason my friend has not played it in 1.5 years is becuase he bought a PS3 and hasnt touched the 360 since. We tried loading some original Xbox games and after trying 9 and being denied support, we finally got Halo to work and thats it. I played a little Dead Rising, Crackdown, Perfect Dark Zero and the graphis are downright cartoony compared to PS3 titles like Uncharted and MGS4.

He left it here for me to play during the weekend, but seriously, the only reason I can muster to turn this thing on is to find another dozen reasons why my PS3 is light years ahead of this dinosaur.

The character models are just fugly but it does have better textures than launch games. I have MGS4 and Uncharted and honestly COD4(even though its multiplat) and Gears look as good as them.

edit: Oh what did early ps2 owners do when the new slimline came out. They dealt with it or bought a new ps2. Things change with a console as the years go by. The launch owners are always the ones that got screwed in the beginning. Thats the risk of being the launch owner. You are the first to get the machine but in the end your model is inferior to current models as far as features are concerned. It still doesn't change the fact that the 360 does have HDMI. There is no debate over it.

I disgree about halo 3, but I will not argue with you about it. Cod4 looks great for the amount of action that's happenning on the screen, but I still see MGS4 as the console graphics king until now (also according to GS and many other major sites).

as far as I remmeber, the only advantge that the slimline has is bult in modem, which can be bought as an add on for the fat model.it ran hotter as I remmeber(correct me if I'm wrong here).

can you bought a HDMI port for your lunch x360 title? no, you don't even have the option, plus the very high risk of the RROD problem on the launch model, the owners are screwed, the high amount of other hardware problems (DRE, scratch discs etc etc).

I understand it just fine noob. I just don't believe it. When it is on a reputable site like gamespot, ign. I will believe it. In the mean time we could look at the comparisons that gamespot has done on multiplats in which xbox dominates.

I'd be willing to subscribe to a pay version of the PSN if it meant more frequent classic game downloads and better third party support in general. The Playstation Store has begun to improve, sure, but they still tend to owe the people behind Rockband, because many weeks, if not for those DLC updates for that game, they wouldn't really have an update to provide at all. I've purchased four great rated exclusive downloadable games for my 360, and recently Tales of Veperia, and soon, Infinite Undiscovery.

While my PS3 is dusted off once a week for an MGS4 play through, I get my game on with the 360, and scratch my JRPG fix there too. (which is just a bizzare thing to actually be able to say) Playstation 3 is a regression as much as the 360, it went from actually being a Playstation, to being a westernized shooter box in the same vein as the OG Xbox. In terms of software, right now, the 360 is out playstationing Sony. I have many JRPG playing friends who would trade the slot loading and built in wi-fi that they don't even use (wired connections are simply better) for a better lineup of games, as they waited and picked up a PS3 expecting it to pick right back up where PS2 is leaving off.

For all the nifty nitpicky little things you listed, if it came down to it, I'd part with the PS3, not the 360. Funny that in the "year of the PS3" I've considered selling mine just to keep up with all the 360 stuff I want to get. My PSP is much more of a Playstation than the PS3 is, and when I bring that up I get the "just wait" phrase thrown at me, like I do with the online store, which is "closing the gap/almost as good". Wow, yeah, only took 'em two years to be slightly worse instead of laughably worse, good job.

He compares MGS4 and Uncharted to 2005 early 2006 titles that have an art ****of a cartoony look but completely ignores better looking games like Gears, Halo 3 and COD4. Halo 3 has better lighting than most console games period. Also it does have detailed textures in the environments. The character models are just fugly but it does have better textures than launch games. I have MGS4 and Uncharted and honestly COD4(even though its multiplat) and Gears look as good as them.

edit: Oh what did early ps2 owners do when the new slimline came out. They dealt with it or bought a new ps2. Things change with a console as the years go by. The launch owners are always the ones that got screwed in the beginning. Thats the risk of being the launch owner. You are the first to get the machine but in the end your model is inferior to current models as far as features are concerned. It still doesn't change the fact that the 360 does have HDMI. There is no debate over it.

I disgree about halo 3, but I will not argue with you about it. Cod4 looks great for the amount of action that's happenning on the screen, but I still see MGS4 as the console graphics king until now (also according to GS and many other major sites).

as far as I remmeber, the only advantge that the slimline has is bult in modem, which can be bought as an add on for the fat model.it ran hotter as I remmeber(correct me if I'm wrong here).

can you bought a HDMI port for your lunch x360 title? no, you don't even have the option, plus the very high risk of the RROD problem on the launch model, the owners are screwed, the high amount of other hardware problems (DRE, scratch discs etc etc).

We tried loading some original Xbox games and after trying 9 and being denied support, we finally got Halo to work and thats it. I played a little Dead Rising, Crackdown, Perfect Dark Zero and the graphis are downright cartoony compared to PS3 titles like Uncharted and MGS4.

He left it here for me to play during the weekend, but seriously, the only reason I can muster to turn this thing on is to find another dozen reasons why my PS3 is light years ahead of this dinosaur.

That is a FACT. XBox Live is far superior to PSN. Download are like 3-4x's faster on XBox Live.Updates on Live is faster. I own BOTH PS3 and 360 and I know this for a FACT. XBox 360 has weakness, but so does the PS3. While M$ is adding new things like HDMI, wireless mics, new interface, cooler CPU/GPU chips to their 360's, Sony is taking things away (card reader, emotion chip, B/C, USB ports, etc..).

So do I, even though I do enjoy Uncharted, Heavenly Sword and Motorstorm on the PS3. I tried Ratchet & Clank, but it was to repetitive. Now playing Tales of Vesperia, Lost Oddysey and Tiger Woods 09 on 360.

Im just saying, as a piece of hardware, the 360 has more in common with 6th-gen consoles, save the HD. That cluncky disc tray is just outdated and cheap looking, MS is the only one who still uses it.
