With Ps Home around the corner Xlive is in grave danger if not already dead,Ps Virtual home is probably the most innovative idea in the history of gaming a massive 3D Virtual interactionspace for Play Station users absolutely free of charge(For the basic suscription) will most likely be the last nail in coffin for the "charge for everything XLive" , Its obvious that millions of gamers all over the globe will be attracted by this feature and worse yet (for Ms) many users of their paid online service will probably consider switching sides if not immediately do so without hesitation , beyond the reasonable doubt PShome destabilizes the competition between the 2 online gaming services on favor to the Ps3 , Xbox Live Self-Manufactured downfall approaches ? Bloody Hell!

Xbox Live: You can play games, talk, message, and off your profile.

So I say no.

I can only hope that Home is one of those things that sound really lame in theory but when you try it out you actually like it. Stringer kind of killed the idea for me when the very first thing I saw was him being quoted as saying it's just like myspace.

I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and an open mind until I am actually there.

Theres a reason why people pay for live, they ant to play games. I bought my 360 to play games. If I ever bought a PS3,I wouldnt buy it for home. 3D chat = bleh, even moreso when its on a gaming console.

Hell, home is pretty much out already.Just play second life.

actually, home can do all that you said live can do. but anyway, that isn't to say I agree with the TC.

The fact is, XBL is doing fine, and will be doing fine for years to come I'm sure. but, I do think that the PSN/Home could/will become equal, or even greater than XBL, providing XBL stays the same.

Either way you look at it, both services will continue to grow, and just get better and better. Neither one is going to just stop.

You can play games in Home too. You can go into specific game lobbies to get a game of UT3 ready, or do it at your own house. PLay a game of warhawk, quit, and do it again with everyone with a different game. You can also message/talk.

Nothing like that has been anounced. The only thing Sony said we'd have to pay for is certain clothing/bigger or different appartments/rooms/furnishings for your house.

But everything else is free. Which includes the basic apartment, enough furniture to furnish your "space", and enough clothing options to keep the basic gamer happy. It seems the purchasable mini transactions are mainly for those that plan on spending more time in Home than in games/whatever.

But there will also be unlockable costumes/etc, mostly based on games I think.

Anyway, Everything the average gamer could want (and more) comes free with the Home package.

why do cows seem to think home is an end to xbox live. xbox live is to big now to be stopped and what is home exactly some fake me out sims hang out section on your ps3 how is that going to shut down xbox live. So what you can play mini games you could play the same stuff in te xbox live arcade and so what you can watch movies you can also do that on the xbox. In the end home isnt going to change the ps3s online experience so no its not and a medium blow to live

If home was on 360 it would be free...its only playing games that costs. Don't worry, if MS was so stupid as to make this kinda thing silver accounts would get it to.

Your predictions in the past have been quite ridiculous. Home is just like making a Mii, then you just go around and socialize and have a house and what not, this is going to get old ridiculously fast. It doesn't have any depth like the Sims did, its just something to distract PSN users.

Home is NOT a direct competition to XBL. XBL is just a set of tools to make online gaming extremely well integrated, easy and convenient. I don't consider loading up a seperate program, wandering around, waiting for friends to log on to visit their "home" very convenient. Its different, its certainly something, but competition to XBL it is not.

Adding more, but wouldn't you have to assume that most of them will cost money? I am sure some will be free, but most will probably cost some money. Paying for a virtual chair is as bad as paying for a gamer picture or theme for the 360.

I think otherwise, By offering this 3D interactive enviroment for free on a gaming console for the first time, from my point of view, its another useful tool to bring down the competition in console online service and I believe it might make it.

Thats great, I already knew all of that, so don't question my knowledge. Thats great, you can go straight to playing online games, thats completely new, what a feature. Were talking about the avatar and the social aspect of Home, building a character and giving it a home and such. I just don't see the advantage Home has over Live, when a friend comes on it notifies you, and if you want to chat with someone you can send them a notice, I just think Live is much better than Home.

You'll have tons of accessories for your avatar and Home and sony will keep adding more periodically

LTomlinson21

Adding more, but wouldn't you have to assume that most of them will cost money? I am sure some will be free, but most will probably cost some money. Paying for a virtual chair is as bad as paying for a gamer picture or theme for the 360.

Not some MANY and more will be constantly added for free do your research

[QUOTE="Corvin"]Home is NOT a direct competition to XBL. XBL is just a set of tools to make online gaming extremely well integrated, easy and convenient. I don't consider loading up a seperate program, wandering around, waiting for friends to log on to visit their "home" very convenient. Its different, its certainly something, but competition to XBL it is not.AgentA-Mi6

I think otherwise, By offering this 3D interactive enviroment for free on a gaming console for the first time, from my point of viewis another useful tool to bring down the competion in console online service and I believe it might make it.

Its basically a big 3D advertising zone for Sony and their affiliates. And once again I point out it is missing one of the major features of XBL: Convenience. I turn on 360, bam, I'm on XBL and there are my friends list and any messages and I can even see what my friends are playing and sometimes even which stage of the game they are at, all with a few mere button presses and no external program to load.

Home will have its uses and its fans but it is just not the same thing as XBL. Its an apples to oranges comparison.

Exactly. Its just easier and more user friendly. I just don't see the amazing benefit of having a virtual home and walking around and talking to other avatars, when you have something like xbox live, it just isn't that great, and seeing this thread is saying that PS home could be a killing blow to xbox live, I just don't get where thats coming from.

[QUOTE="goodlay"]Seeing the TC once said that the PS3 would sell 6 million units in one week after a price dropgoodlay

Your predictions in the past have been quite ridiculous. Home is just like making a Mii, then you just go around and socialize and have a house and what not, this is going to get old ridiculously fast. It doesn't have any depth like the Sims did, its just something to distract PSN users.

You have no idea what you are talkign about, Home is not a dumbed down version of the sims, it's an online gaming service provider, meaning you don't have to walk around and chat you can go straight to playing online games.

People know your facts.

Ok im really sorry, I shouldn't have messed with you.

Was I boasting about it? No. I just thought that you didn't know about it.

If you don't want to use it, fine, but it provides a fun way to interact with other gamers.

Home: you walk around and talk.

Xbox Live: You can play games, talk, message, and off your profile.

So I say no.

DuDisNow

Home allows you to do what XBOX Live allows you to do except that a virtual world is added to the experience. Don't forget that Home also improves PSN's already existant features, such as talking, chatting, playing games, and much much more profile accessibility on the console and off the console (cellphone + computer).

Not for everyone...

So walking around and finding someones house is easier than logging on and looking at your friends list to see whos on?

It should be a huge blow to XBL but the hardcore Xbox fans won't think so. They'll just be a little jealous on the inside but then they will say "Xbox Live is WAY better because I have to pay for it!" It's just how most of them work.
