The Xbox was the console of choice last Gen with games like Halo, Forza, Battlefield 2, Counter-Strike, Doom 3, PGR2, Etc

How many online game servers did EA take down? I've got single player games from the late 1990s that still run fine.

The only reason I play online is best most of my friends are on PSN. Besides, PSN is lacking when compared to Xfire, Steam, and Xbox Live.

this is a personal opinion and highly subjective. I am glad you like your PS3.

I also think it is a good console but you have to realize that many others will have the same opionion about their 360 or Wii.

if you just want to have a talk with other PS3 fans why not do it on the PS3 board

The PS1 is the greatest. The PS3 is one of the worst (not including consoles that bombed like the Jaguar or 3DO)

Reasons:

The cell processor is hampered by an outdated graphics chip. Developers just aren't prepared to re-invent the wheel for this system.

It scratches discs regularly. With the 360 you can copy entire games onto the hard drive, the disc is only need to verify ownership. With the PS3, the Blu-Ray DVD is still being accessed after installation. I had to replace 2 games because of they got scratched inside the machine and cutscenes wouldn't load.

The GAMES. If you're an RPG fan the PS3 is a barren wasteland.At least the 360 has Mass Effect 1 & 2and Lost Odyssey.

We are all consumers; but there are gamers and then there are consumers. Consumers buy into the whole disposable gaming culture, nothing is of long term value. It's just consumed, disposed of; and then they want the next big thing. Retail has built itself around this mentality, hence the encouraging of trading old games in for new.

Personally I keep hold of all my games, but backwards compatibility isn't a problem for me.

Ill still play an old game if I like it but why play old games when thier are so many awesome new games out for PS3.
