Honestly this shows what is wrong with Playstation gamers, they have forgotten their heritage.
Despite the 360 being launched a year earlier the PS2 continued to receive significant support, even well past PS3's launch the PS2 received developer support.
You think it was popular for so long because of hardware performance? Maybe some sort of techy feature it had over the competition?
The PS2 had something the PS3 lacks, majority 3rd party support. Games, that's what makes a system popular. Sony was so focused on having higher performance figures and features than the competition they didn't take into account to make a system that would actually attract developer support.
Of the 210 A+ scoring PS3 games that GameSpot has reviewed; only 32 are exclusives. That's a dramatic shift compared to the PS2, yet even now people squabble over the PS3 being technically better, as if that matters.
