Wait a second. So 5000 people surveyed doesn't count, but 500 consoles does? And their recent 15% number was not including RROD. That's what I meant. Judging from the number of people on here reporting RROD's and real life experience I wouldn't doubt if the 360 suffered at least a 50% unique failure rate(meaning I'm counting on the FIRST time per 360, so 1 person getting 8 RROD's doesn't count). I don't even know why people fight about this, we know the problem affects the 360 and the newer models seem to be less likely to RROD. Unless MS releases OFFICIAL numbers, we will NEVER know for sure. But I suspect those numbers are too embarassing for them to admit to. That should be the end of discussion right there.

I think many would agree with me when I say that I am not a PS3 hater. And every problem that has been said, minus trophies disappearing and games not playing, has happened to me. Heavy Rain had stopped working for me earlier this week and that is a big problem too. Check my blog for Kotaku's link on that.

This is ridiculous. I hope the trophies are recovered to all of those people who are losing them right now. Maybe they're going to patch Heavy Rain so that'll work too? Meh, one can dream.

The latest Square Trade numbers said they did NOT include RROD. and I'm saying that people say that GI's 5000 number is bollocks when the info you linked me to was taken out of 500 units. So my understanding of this is 5000 people are compeltely wrong because it's such a small percentage of the userbase. But a piddly 500 people is correct because the number is smaller and help lemmings prove that RROD is on the decline?

No one was making the comparison between my link, and your Game Infromer poll, or even in the same way you are trying to use the game informer poll, I simply linked it to show they clrealy track RROD numbers, so I don't know why you are coming to this conclusion. Also can you provide a link to Square Trade saying they do not include RROD data?

And as was already pointed out even if ST does deal with RROD's, they would likely only deal withh RROD's outside of MS 3 year warranty. Simpy because if you warranty through them before 3 years, it costs them money. And for ANY company in the world, they will do everything in their power to save themselves money. They can simply tell you to go directly to MS and have it done 100% free of charge anyways. Sure the odd person would complain that they purchased a warranty and want it honord, but MOST sane people would just call MS directly and get their coffin shipped, because it's just that easy.

Also I never posted the GI numbers, someone else did. I was just trying to say it's a little hypocritical to say a survey from 5000 people isn't right but one from 500 is.

From the fact that PS3 users were getting the corrpution even while offline, suggests a coded bug in the firmware. I'd be curious to see what version of firmware users who got the crashes and corruption were running. Trophy corruption sounds kinda shameful should they not be able to correct that without resetting users trophies, it will be a slap in the face to those who got hit!

If my Assasins Creed 2 Trophies were deleted permanently by this weird error, Im gonna stop caring about trophies altogether, i've spent hours trying to get the platinum trophy and I was very close to get itAgentA-Mi6

What sucks is some of my Assassin's Creed 2 trophies weren't unlocking back when I was playing. I synchronized all view points and didn't get the trophy for synchronizing 10, i completed Chapter 2 but never got the trophy, etc. So no matter how many hours I put in I would never get those trophies.

Many people on the Ubisoft forums were complaining about that. It would be nice to know if they were fixing that problem.

But I know how you feel. If my trophies are all of the sudden wiped and I have to earn back a lot of them, I'm just not caring anymore. That happened to me with my 360 a while back, hence why I enjoy trophies more than achievements, but that's a whole nother story... :P

Gamespot today probably got over 1000 new accounts lol.. PS3 fourms are filled with level 1 users new to the site.. anyways i really hope this is fixed soon

Glad to know its not just me.. for example i was playing God of War 1 from GoW collection and after collecting all the fethers i was confused on why no trophy showing up.. so i went ahead more and did the other gaol and still no trophy so i had to turn the system off and now im waiting

Ouch, collected all the feathers and you didn't get the trophy? That bites; especially if, when that problem is fixed, the patch is not retroactive, therefore making you collect them all over again.

By the way, your FFXIII countdown gets me so excited!!! I want that game!!!

Lol I was going to say that PSN was working fine for me, but I saw that it only affected Plat PS3.:P Anyway well that sucks. It happens at times to pretty much any consoles.
