Quantum Break early impressions?

I was able to upgrade a move some time early on in act 2. As soon as you break in to the factory the upgrade material is on the table of the lower floor.

I play more Sony games than any of these goons.

Holy cow (no pun intended!), but this game is just off the charts awesome. The great reviews just keep rolling in one after another. Here is another review that just came out yesterday. It's like a non-stop train of great reviews. Combined with the user reviews all over the web, excited about this GOTY.

Quantum Break could exist on other platforms, but no one could have made it except Remedy, a studio that hasn't published a game on a non-Microsoft console in more than 12 years. The game's episodic narrative structure comes from Alan Wake, but it has much better pacing. Console exclusives exist to showcase the strengths of each individual platform, and up to this point the Xbox One really hasn't had one. ButQuantum Break changes that. After more than two years, the system finally has its first killer app.

Good question, not sure! But I will just keep posting all the new reviews as they come! That is what is important right? Getting impressions of the game for those that have yet to play it.

That's not a Sony game. If you're lying then you might as well try harder next time and actually do your homework. That game is developed by Team Ninja and published by Koei Tecmo.

Thank goodness, No, I love Vegas but living there, heck, I'd be broke lol. Local place here in Ohio.

Ah, you are not far from me, I am in Wisconsin. Sometimes I go to the local casinos here (Ho Chunk, Potowanami), or I venture to Dubuque Iowa and visit Mystique and the other one (I forget the name). Going to Vegas in May though. Not a buffet fan AT ALL, but I do like one of the buffets in Vegas, so I will be hitting that.

Eh, not a huge fan of buffet's myself but this one is awesome and these friends are actually vendors of mine wining & dining me trying to get more of mah bidness so if it's free, it's me. lol. :P

What Act are you on in the game?

I know, right? Everyone here seems to be in their 40s ... it's not what I expected, at all.

I'm about 10 hours in with just the final chapter to go. game is phenomenal. This is the type of "next gen" experience people upgrade for

The gunfights are pretty good in this game. I like it when it pushes you against the wall, but you use your powers to get out of it. Yeah, they implemented them really well.

@kvally: Question, what powers have you been using the most? I like the Time Dash more when you upgrade it so you can knock down enemies and the Time Blast is really cool.

I got 9 more years to be in my 40's lol.

I actually beat the game without upgrading anything, I kept looking for an upgrade menu, by the time I was done I realized I needed to find chronon points...

This game is a blast....everyone should give it a go....even you @StrongBlackVine since you are in this thread and all :P

@dynamitecop: Finding Chronons was really easy to do when the little icon uptop tells you your near one and just turn on time vision to find it. Time Dash and Time Blast is all I needed for the most parts and I'll be some with QB tonight when I get home.

I played the entire game with the HUD disabled lol... If I can turn off a HUD I always do, it brings you into the game world much more, seeing UI elements at all times ruins game immersion for me.

I tend to use the shield quite a bit, probably the most. Time Blast is the one I used the least, but have been using it more and more.

Agreed. The battles with chronon powered enemies are fun. Cant hold them frozen and they can zip around and flank you.

Yeah I use dodge, stop, shield most.

He was all over the Rise of the Tomb Raider threads crying when that came out. He seems to be bothered with the notion that many of us are having fun with this game regardless of its scores. Reminds me of Nier. 5/10 on GS but somehow many cows simply cannot wait for the sequel as if it scored a 10/10.

@cainetao11: Yeah I am glad I don't care what GS says....I am enjoying the hell out of it. It's shame about the PC version though.

Its a fun game thus far. Nothing earth shattering. But listening to Brown's take on the Lobby I was like, you must've really sucked at the gameplay based on his complaints.

If you are not into a game with heavy use of cutscenes and push forward gameplay you should avoid the game at all cost.

Up to Act 4 now, and I don't see how this game scored a 6 here. Just too much of a quality game to receive such a low score anywhere.

Why not both? I wasn't sure either, but after playing a bit I'm convinced it's a quality game. Yes, game. There's enough mechanics there to qualify as one, and being fun doesn't hurt the experience either.

Significantly more time is spent not playing than playing. Yes, its still a game but there is more non gaming elements than gaming. So, it receiving a 6 is arguably generous. I would not say a game is a quality game when there is less gaming than non gaming and the gaming elements are heavily segmented by huge chunks of non interactivity.

True, at the end of the game you really feel like you mastered the powers and can use them one after another. Taking out guys really fast.

Just a shame there is no new game plus :O

Just finished act/episode 4 and yeah he is dead now. Said something about a "new world" ?

Well Major Nelson did a podcast with Sam Lake yesterday and they discussed the possible expansion of the game and what's next, in terms of expanding on Quantum Break Sam stated that it's all largely related to the success of the game and how well it does. He stated that this is a business and like all businesses going forward, things have to be right for things to happen, he would like to but it just depends on where this game ends up.

I hope it sells well, I would really enjoy seeing more from this universe.
