[QUOTE="h575309"][QUOTE="MADVLAD123"][QUOTE="Xbox360gamer1"][QUOTE="MADVLAD123"]It's true. It is influential. I mean look how it popularized console FPS's and how it revolutionized Console multiplayer. Plus it brought lots of new gamers into the console world. MADVLAD123
Goldeneye?
Perfect Dark?
None as influential as Halo. And I still believe Halo is better (I played both when they came out just FYI). I think I had more fun with Halo. And the fluidity of its combat. The melees, grenades, and firing all working in sync without a pause in between. It was fast paced and easy to control. That was why it was so good and appealing to crowds (as well as casual gamers).
I'm not saying Goldeneye and Perfect Dark weren't good, because they were. But I believe Halo was better. Just like many people in system wars believe *this game* is better than *that game*.
But I think people will still agree that Halo was much more inflential than Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. I mean. You don't see newer FPS's being called "Goldeneye-killer" or "Perfect Dark-killer". No, it's "Halo-Killer".
this is true but back then, fps were not as big on consoles as they are now. i mean now everyone is putting out an fps. goldeneye and PD were great back in the day but they didnt have the kind of competition halo has now on consoles.
This is true for Halo's time as well. Console FPS were very rare when Halo was released. But once Halo came out it opened the floodgates. I mean shooters on consoles became popular and numerous after Halo's release. That's what I call influential.
yea i would agree with that. halo was great. still is great. i hope bungies aim is for the best halo yet. if they can achieve that, then i will be very happy.
