I have to admit I have not played the London Olympics 2012 on PC yet :P

i have played some bad ports though, I own tons of pc games and the only two that pissed me off were Saints Row 2 and RE4. Out of over 400+ pc games those are the only two that really got under my skin.

Fastforward to now and these last two (Darksiders2 and Dark Souls) are added to that list. Its not that I am a graphcis whore or a snobby pc gamer, I just dont like crappy/lazy ports, period. I have been burned on those two games mentioned above in the past, havign been lazy ports. I am glad I got to try both Darksiders2 and Dark Souls at friends places before buying them myself.

In From's defense, they said from the very start that it would be a bare bones PC port, atleast they did not lie liek Darksiders2 devs did about what would be in teh PC version on day one.

Not to mention my friend had to have me come over and lend him my 360 wired controller to play the game :lol:

The keyboard and mouse controls are horrible also (Literally unplayable for some).

When we played, there was 360 icons coming up even though there was no 360 controller hooked up (reason why he got me to bring it over in the first place). Says press A to pick things up, but if you are using keyboard and mouse you have no idea what that button is. The Menus suck and the list goes on.

Dark Souls and Darksiders2 are the worst ports ive seen since Saints Row2 and RE4.

and they didn't even bother to add keyboard/mouse icons for the on screen button prompts. Without a gamepad plugged in, you still get Xbox buttons on screen.

Exactly, when my friend called me to bring controller over (I also really wanted to try the PC version as I own the ps3 version) he said the 360 icons were comign up even though he was using K+M :lol:

poor guy had no idea what buttons he was suppose to press for "x on 360 controller". When I got there before plugging in the 360 controller I had to see it for myself, sure enough, 360 icons comign up with K+M being used :(:(

I mean I would of ended up using a 360 controller for this game anyways myself, but just the fact that the K+M controls are so bad from the start just sucks. One of the main positives for pc gaming is the ability to use what ever controller you want, but in Darksouls its pretty much telling you that you must use a controller.

Eh, I'm definitely in the "PC version is almost always superior multiplat" boat, but I wouldn't say it "completely destroys" the console versions. With the help of an unofficial resolution mod, it get to the point of "just barely superior, in one way".

how can it not handle it? because of frame rate problems? have you played the console versions?

I played a couple hours last night ( SL 26 atm) and it really isn't that had. I am playing with a Gamepad and the resolution mod but so far so good when it comes to performance. I've stayed locked at 30 fps and aside from a few other visual blemishes I am content with the game.BPoole96

so lemme get some opinions... i just built a gaming rig... was kinda holding off on finishing dark on ps3 to see what the pc version had to offer... they already confirmed that the expansions will eventually be available for the console versions....

should i start fresh on pc at this port... or are there really no redeeming features at all (added content does not count)?

just so you know where i am... I just killed Ren and Stimpy... just got a full 5-beam homing soul ray.. just maxed a claymore +5 (forget if the +5 goes to enchanted or magic)

Cosign, pc is about options, one of those options is you have alot of choices when it comes to controls to play games with.

Dark Souls pretty much makes you play with a controller and its sad really. Atleast give pc gamers the option to play with what they want.

At least someone fixed the Resolution thing for it. I will get it if I can at least change the Resolution for the PC Version.

I don't want to get something that I'm going to find exactly on the PS3 (Resolutions and what not.)

Despite what some over exaggerate claims have said over the years, I have yet to run into a problem with Windows live.Anyway still better
