Reason number six zillion why PC gaming rules

Well then no way in hell can that pc run it near max with your description. I run it on high when I play at 2xaa, some times no aa. Dont see how his build could do that.Also other then a few games there is no need to upgrade, what do you expect they are almost all ports, if they were ported better they would be even easier to run.

I wouldn't say that the aforementioned PC above could run "near max" either, I was just saying that it isn't abhorrently hard to reach those levels these days. As for no software stressing current hardware, it is sort of a given considering that the hardware market is totally stagnating due to the economy, or whatever.

It's a vicious circle, another game like Crysis would need to come along to make people's rigs melt down. Not that there aren't amazing looking games around.

I absolutely love how people constantly go onto this forum and criticize threads they don't like by suggesting that they have nothing else to do or even insulting their character then resume their lot of bashing and bragging for their own team (if you have observed the interactions between 360/PS3 fans and PC fans and compared those to the interactions between 360/PS3 fans and Wii fans you'll know what I'm talking about). It reveals a most interesting dichotomy in their thinking, or perhaps the lack of it.

I just want to play the quality titles that are on consoles and not on PC.

Here is a PC for close to 500 USD that can play Crysis on near max settings at 1680x1050 res.

If you are a college student you can get this set up for 70 USD cheaper since you can grab windows 7 for 30 bucks.

It can play just about every game at max settings with 1680x1050 res.

Plus it can do much more than a console.

Just about every one of you has a computer of their own so you should add in the cost of that computer and your console and then try comparing that to a gaming PC.

I actually dont hate pc gaming at all. I prefer it, I am a graphics whore and pc has the best graphics. I just like to argue :P and try to put rude people in there place. As for all the talk I do about pc having declining exclusives and mostly ports, that is true, I would love for the pc to be the plaitform of choice for devs but it is not, I call it like I see it.

the processor is good far from being "useless" as he claims just below then phenom II quads is performance.

and 2G is defintly capable of running games you might see some improvements with more ram in certian games but its far from not being "being able to run anything" if he had only put say a gig of ram then i would agree.

And you should know that when using FRAPS to record,it lowers frame rate significantly.

Without recording it would be smooth.

So apparently you should look things up before you post.

Try running FRAPS on record while playing Crysis then tell me how your frame rate is.

I don't care what your computer can do because the fact that my computer can do it proves you 100% wrong.

Calm down ladies. :P The fact that my £450 PC can run Crysis on very high no aa at 25-30 fps, which is completely playable, ends the arguement. The PS3 is £299.

FRAPS is popular and most people use it to record videos.

Just about any recording program will lower FPS significantly when recording at full resolution.

If you lower the recording output resolution it will free up some frames but then your video will be 800x600 res or lower when the actual game play is at a much higher res.

It takes about a third of your FPS. :( It's the best video capturing software for gaming. How else are we to capture the awesomeness of games without Fraps? :o

BG2 and Throne of Bhaal run fine for me.

You must be doing something wrong.

Some older games take a few tweaks to get working.

Sometimes you need to run them in xp compatibility mode or something else.

DRM is only for 2 games dude the rest is fine.

I'd be lying if I said my computer's never crashed before, but a quick and simple google search normally results in a fix, ie. "insert game here" CTDs after the intro movie. But ofcourse, for me, that's veeery rare. :P

I'm not opposed to DRM outside of Ubisoft's, I seriously don't care to install games that many times, but that's just me.

I won't be surprised if some publishers introduce anti-piracy/anti-used game measure on consoles by next-gen. I'm curious how the console world would react to serial keys. :lol:

You forgot Mods, to hell with paying $15 for a piece of **** map pack. We get quality community maps and sometimes hours and hours worth of total conversions.
