Glad this was already a Black Friday game for me. I'm not buying this at full price. Not after the crap story telling of the last game.

It's one review ffs... most reviews are positive. It got more than Spiderman on IGN (I'm sure Sony fannies would love that).

I think Edmond (reviewer) is probably disappointed..that after so long..the gameplay mechanics hasn't change or improved ...probably why it he scored it low. Seems like they didn't do enough to improve the old mechanics..& the new mechanics doesn't work properly...at least that what I got from reading his review. :P Still gonna get it..just to complete the 3..lol.. xD

Really, the biggest complaint is that its not innovative enough (which is hypocritical of games journalists) and that Lara's character journey is underwhelming (which has been a problem the entire series, every incarnation).

Fanboys in the review comments are saying the GS reviewer only gave it a low score as a clickbait tactic, but reviewers all over are also giving this 6-7s. Sounds like a disappointing conclusion and we're going to need another reboot.

Personally, I could already see problems in Rise of the Tomb Raider. It's still good, but it started getting bloated, the story was unfocused, and looks like they were trying to copy AC and Arkham with the sheer amount of collectibles.

Dumb..& if those coloured characters aren't there...they'd be complaining why only all white characters. No Lara is coloured in this game...she can turn brown, can cover herself in mud. :P

Uncharted games never change and yet they get high scores. ?

and the combat in Uncharted games is terrible.

In other news: It’s pretty pathetic that people want a game to flop or are happy about it flopping just because it’s not their type of game.

Gaming has all sorts of games for every type of gamer today...it’s never been better.

To want something to not be good that many others enjoy because it’s not something you consider hardcore, which is pathetic itself and I picture socially awkward dweebs saying this, is why gamers still have a bad reputation in many eyes.

I will pick up my reply from here as it is related to Uncharted. My point is its not consistence with what they have been doing. They have been letting the strengths of these games carry the score, not there weaknesses. TR strength is exploration its probably the best when it comes to these games. A 6 focusing on its weakest part is a bit harsh and a change noted by the TC.

Fantastic..... I'm even more excited for the game now. It's one of the few action adventure series I enjoy because you are not obligated to play it stealth, and skimming through the review, the guy might as well be talking about Rise of The Tomb Raider, a game I greatly enjoyed overall.

I thought the platforming was great in Rise so unless they tried something different here and messed it up, that is the only thing that bothered me. Otherwise, the majority of the scores are good and I knew that because of the simpler revenge story, the darker grittier tone of the game this was going to irk some of the reviewers, happens every time....that and the fact it is more of the same, which is fine by me because I just recently finished Rise and I really enjoyed it.

Also I disagree with the Eidos Montreal thing, they developed Deus Ex rev. if I am not mistaken and I loved that game, another one where I could play it as I wanted and not be bothered to go stealth all the time.

That's the ps4 version because teh ps4 reviewers like cowspot are knocking it down. They have received orders from master Sony to tank the game. #PayBackForExclusivity

If you'd like to solely take X1 reviews into account, then that's cool. There's no denying that it's reviewing lower across the board, like I originally stated. It's barely holding an 80 average, and we've multiple sources to pull in. It's not going to review as high.

Still getting it, reviews have me excited. Many say gameplay much same as last couple games largely, good enough for me. Criticisms of story though, frankly, this was an issue with RotTR too, it got a free pass there for some reason, the 2013 reboot had a much better story, maybe this one could have had a better story had reviewers called them out for it with RotTR.

Anyhow, considering all the "industry insiders" on SonyGAF issued an eternal grudge fatwa against Crystal Dynamics for RotTR's timed XB1 console exclusity, it currently carrying an 83 on Metacritic seems like a strong endorsement considering the industry wide prejudicial handicap it has working against it.
