Couldn't have said it better myself.[QUOTE="KristoffBrujah"]
As usual GS will probably underrate it wrt the genre. Shogun will have a few drawbacks, it gets docked 1-1.5 points, but RTS with far less depth like Starcraft will get the same or better score despite being nowhere close to the quality of the TW series.
Dur... scouting+killing harvesters is a strategy... derp derp.
No, just no. Flanking, encirclement, feigned retreats, sieges, these are strategy, not zerg vs. protoss.

I sure hope I get my copy tomorrow...
My Amazon order says "shipping soon." Wouldn't have ordered it but wanted the LE for the Hattori clan.
What will be your first clan? Mine will be Shimazu or Date, depending on how I feel. :D

Most strategy games are on PC.
You're basically passing on the entire genre due to platform. And the Total War series is a masterpiece unequaled anywhere else. It feels like playing an RPG/RTS hybrid with epic battles.
Shhhh you gonna wake up teh Dune2 crowd....As usual GS will probably underrate it wrt the genre. Shogun will have a few drawbacks, it gets docked 1-1.5 points, but RTS with far less depth like Starcraft will get the same or better score despite being nowhere close to the quality of the TW series.

I'm enjoying Shogun 2 a lot! The japanese setting isn't my favorite, but I can say this is the best Total War game I've played since Rome. There are improvements all over. My only complaint is the loooooonnng loading times to start the game and to enter battle sequences. Also, there're a few minor bugs, but the game is very polished out of the box. :D
Completely agree!
I enjoyed Medieval 2 and even Empire, but I just haven't had this much fun with a Total War game since Rome.
The AI is improved (though still a bit lacking), the graphics are amazing and impresive - nothing like seeing 10,000 troops maneuvering around in a detailed map and still have the game be smooth as butter (still waiting on DX 11 though), the UI and overall gameplay is streamlined, but only where it needed to be.
So far I've become Shogun of my little island and not without some awesome victories and losses and tricky political maneuvering.
The only thing I haven't tried much fo is multi-player, and that looks amazing too. Gonna give it a shot this weekend.
Love the game so far. I've lost two games too. Thats never happened in any Total War game i've played.
The battle AI is a bit better. The campaign AI is much better. I initially thought that since it was only going to be Japan, that the map would be fairly small, but thats not the case at all. The campaign map is a bit more linear due to the all the mountaints creating passages and valleys, but theres plenty of romm still to maneuver and attack.
The added RPG elements are most welcome. They really allow you tailer your generals to suit the needs of your empire.
Good to know they finally improved the campaign AI :)Love the game so far. I've lost two games too. Thats never happened in any Total War game i've played.

[QUOTE="Krayzie_3334"]Well that makes this a confirmed purchase :) First since Rome: Total War that gamespot gave the series AAA Yes, you should get it it's worth every cent. I'm not gonna say it's the best TW, but it's one of the best.9.0 on Gamespot.8)
