-Joinable Factions: Rebels with branching path quests (Stormcloaks) and Riverwood Tavern Warrior Clan.

-You can persuade various random NPCs to accompany you and they feel like fleshed out, interesting companions.

-There are six different stages to crafting items. The first two are: Refining crude ore and Assembling materials.

-More realistic alchemy labs.

-In addition to alchemy ingredients there are also reagents.

-Some spells can be learned by reading spell tomes, while others can be bought from merchants.

-Hand to Hand attacks have a much improved gravity and physicality.

-There are more ways to complete quests.

-Lockpicking mini-game is improved.

-There are bards in the game.

-You can choose not to spend perk points each level, and hold onto them instead.

-During Character Generation you can add laugh lines to your character.

-There are dozens of sliders for character creation.

-Aurora Borealis is confirmed.

-You can have animal companions.

-Bosmer "Animal Allies" Racial Ability confirmed.

-Glow Worms confirmed.

-Killable Bees and insects confirmed (you can harvest bees from beehives).

-Perks do not stop at level 50.

The more I hear about Skyrim the more hyped I get! Animal companions, Fast travel costs money, hand to hand is improved, more realistic thievery, bards, more lively NPC's, NPC's can become partner's, hand crafted dungeons and loot, Skyrim is fixing a lot of problems that plagued Oblivion, and then some. I'm looking forward to playing Skyrim...WITHOUT MODS, and yes, it's playable without mods ;)

Eh, i suggest you believe nothing until you play the game, Oblivion recieved massive hype and tons of info. from the developers before release, yet they were bashed because almost half of what they promised never came true. (that's one of the many reasons why Oblivion is hated)

People argue if ME2 is an RPG or TPS. Can't it be both? TPSRPG, just like how Borderlands is an FPSRPG :P Your life must be pretty bad if you're looking forward to the end of the world :o

Yes, Bethesda said that Oblivion had 14 voice actors so you kept hearing the same voice over and over again. Skyrim has 70 voice actors, and 60,000 lines of dialogue. Fallout 3 had 40,000 lines of dialogue, so I'm sure variety won't be a problem in this game.

The most interesting one for is how fast travel costs money. It is a nice concept but it needed something to offset the convenience.

If this game delivers on half its promises, this may take a lot of GOTY if not RPGOTY in a lot of places.

So in addition to alchemy ingrediants there will also be reagents.

Interesting does that mean some spells will also cost items? I cant wait to find out more.

Todd Howard: It's all of that. When you first play the game, it's really just for show. It makes the world believable and entertaining, and I think that's important. But as you play, you start to figure out what you can do with these NPCs, and how you can influence their behavior, and when doing a quest, it really comes into play. A simple "get the diamond from that guy... quest can be done in hundreds of ways now. Is he sleeping? When is he home? Does he take the diamond to work with him? Does he like me? Can he sell it? Should I kill him? Pick his pocket? Steal his food and see if he sells the diamond to eat? That's just some off the top of my head

what was cool was needing to remember which strider you needed to get to a certain town/city. At one point you'll need to make one or two stops before reaching your destination. I always liked the idea and it made the world feel much larger than it really was...

Everything you said there is actually in the game. I don't remember any diamonds but that does indeed sound like one of the quests.

Think they called it Radiant A.I

I just had a good laugh, you're right they are doing the same thing for the dragons.

Anyway, I never really disliked Oblivion. Oblivion was fairly decent, you can be entertained in infinite ways with the mods. Skyrim looks like a big improvement in every way.

Everything you said there is actually in the game. I don't remember any diamonds but that does indeed sound like one of the quests.

Yeah, that last part isn't in the game, but everything else is.

[QUOTE="GeneralShowzer"][QUOTE="Deadbeatcobra"] Wasn't around when oblivion was being hyped. what are some of the things that didn't make it into the game?

Oh really, a simple quest can be done in hundreds of ways? You can influence NPC's ? I don't think so.

Can Zelda kill dragons?

Yes he did, yes he did.

Most of the quests in oblivion can only be done one way.

Todd Howard: Yes and yes. Full 5.1 surround, dynamic score, the works. I saw some crazy stat for the number of Xbox users with 5.1 setups and it was staggering, so we plan on fully using it. As far as voices, yes, there are more well-known and brilliant people in the game, and they'll be announced later. We were able to get our "dream-team" of actors for this. Herp derp :P

Does this translate to celebrity actors for this game? That's what it sounds like to me, which I wouldn't know how to respond other than I WANT LIAM NIELSON RIGHT NOW.

Sounds good, hope outside the cities aren't as dead and lifeless as Oblivion, i also hope they removed the EZ mode gameplay, i followed the Knights of the Nine story right towards the end and it built up to be like i was going up against some insanely powerful god where i'd be lucky to win the fight even with the best of the best gear so i spent an hour making the best potions i could, collecting all the resources i could get hands on and ordering everything for easy quick access to fight this beast, then i went in and hit him three times and he died... What a terrible game that was. I couldn't believe they allowed such a retard-mode game to be released.

No, no sorry for the confusion. This is an interview about Oblivion. Here's the full

Games.Net: considering the fact that Oblivion is making such an immersive, living, breathing world, can we expect full surround sound features? Will we hear brooks babble and trees rustle? Will there be music in-game, or are you striving for the most natural experience? We also know that Patrick Steward (Captain Picard from Star Trek: The Next Generation is starring. Are you folks ready to announce any other voice actors for Oblivion?
