M$ better come up with a solution these coming months, it's not good when your discouraged from buying a console just because of it's faulty hardware. They really dropped the ball -___-Kritical_Strike
hardware quality has never stopped a console from being #1. Just look at the ps2. terrible hardware, and took #1 last generation...
will MS fix it? i'm certain they will, but the pics of RROD will continue to come from the non-360 owneres so it's really laughable at this point...
Geez, I really think PC gaming will take over some day. I play consoles now mostly, but I've NEVER had a problem with a PC(Well, bugs and stuff, freezes too, but not an actual problem like.....It not working). No gens, no licensing, cool.... Oddly enough my 360 still works from American launch, one free refurb....Who pwns? I do.
Some of youDO NOT KNOW (if not all)as to what that 360 is actually set on.
LOOK AT THE FREAKING PHOTO. ITS NOT ON THE CARPET!. Look under it for crying out loud and stop damage controlling.
Cedmln
yea were all damage controlling cause a cow showed a picture of someone faking a 360's red rings, something that doesnt take a rocket scientist to do. Sorry that we all cant be as naive as Cedmin and will just beleive anything we see. Ever hear of being a little skeptical and NOT beliving everything u hear just cause someone posts a picture...
[QUOTE="-Maddog-"][QUOTE="SgtWhiskeyjack"][QUOTE="-Maddog-"]When will it end?

1. How do I know that's a 360 fitted with Falcon chips.
2. That 360 must be only days old, someone must want attention. Even on a carpet, it wouldn't die that quickly. I'm guessing it's fake.
Make excuses for your beloved 360....smart.
on carpet IT WILL NOT die....aslong as the vents are clear and theres enough vetilations...it should be fine.
Not answering my questions...smart.
How do I know that's a falconed 360?
How old is that 360?
How do we know it has not been faked?
The Halo 360's have only been out a week as far as I know, I can't see one dieing that quick.
FYI, blocking the vents so that you get reduced air flow through the unit is not the only problem, you also suck up dust. Add moisture from the atmosphere, it gets hot when you play it - turn it off it cools and therefore moisture in the air is then condensed, soaking the dust that gathers on components, which then causes tracking and short circuits on PCB's.
Dont you know? According to Cedmin and Maddog we are supposed to all believe everything we see or read on the internet? Thats how we know its a non-fake new falconed 360...cause they told us. How can u not beleive them
Sorry guy, goggles. Also can't any of you use common sense and look at the two different shadows under the 360? There are two. One is made be the 360 and the darker one is made by what it is set on!
USE YOU EYES!!! NOT YOUR GOGLES!
EDIT Fixed spelling. :P

[QUOTE="zaid55"]the falcon chips were put in some of the 360s. IF MS keep this up im a gonna have to buy a PS3 :'(DeathIsARight
Having a PC and a PS3 makes more sense anyway. By not having a 360 what are you really missing?
By having a PC and a PS3 I'll most likely miss the money for it... The game PC is way to expensive if you wanna play new games DX 10 thing compatible.Look at the carpet it's sitting on  The falcon helps keep things cooler, it doesn't make it indestructible.JimmyT2
U act like its siting in a forest
Look at the carpet it's sitting on  The falcon helps keep things cooler, it doesn't make it indestructible.JimmyT2You should put a pair of glasses on and look again. It is sitting on wood, which is sitting on the carpet. Looks like the side of a entertainment stand.
Its a fake or someone is just trying to bash the 360,honestly look at the pick no Memory card and a bad view to see if it has a HD,which if that person doesnt have ether he or she cant really play any games unless you like to start from scratch every time.So my guess someone bought a 360 and tried to get the RROD.
But if its nether then well that sucks, I've had my 360 for 9 months :P.

Wrong, setting any electronic that generates alot of heat on carpet will indeed make that piece of electronic overheat. Carpet absorbs heat and holds it, making the electronic device sitting on it EXTREMELY hot.
Not all Halo 3 Xbox 360's have the 65nm CPU. Also, you can fake a 3/4 red ring of death by cutting off the power by light switch and then flipping the light switch back on. This proves nothing.BioShockOwnz
MS are still getting rid of old stock this winter, so your far more likely to get a console with a 65nm cpu early next year. This is only a rumor though, but it makes sense. I also get the impression a lot of people don't even realise what the Falcon Chip is, they are just jumping on the "lets bash the 360" bandwagon.
[QUOTE="ma7moud93"]How did you know that's a 360 with falcon ships ? naughtydog360
How do you know its not ?
We don't know, but since this thread is talking about how the falcon chips are not helping with the RROD, it would be nice to have some evidence that this Halo 3 console does in fact have the new chipset in it. The 65nm Halo 3 console has to be built on or after August 24, 2007 from team "FDOU" and part of lot 734.
the falcon ones are only on the halo 3 ones....

Well, we know it is a hardware design problem. We also know that even MS offered no guarantee that the new chipset would fix the problem. Only the fanboys believed absolutely that the new chips would be the solution. THey should reduce the number of instances, but the problem is still with the hardware itself, and making the chips smaller isn't the same as a total redesign.
MS should just offer free cooling fan attachments for each 360.

What? That doesn't prove anything, unless you have a picture of the barcode :|
"How to tell if your console has the new chip without ripping it apart? Check the barcode sticker on the side of the box. The 65nm chipped Halo 3 console was built August 24, 2007 from team "FDOU" and part of lot 734"
Another thing is that you can reproduce the red ring of death without it meaning the death of your console. After a very slight power fluctuation at my house (turning off and then back on really, really fast) my 360 went red ring on me. I powered it down and then back on, and it was fine after that.

the console the tc is showing is not a halo3 console....;)

agreed. also, loosening some of theconnections in the back will give you red rings....
very easy to fake for pics, so the cows love to do it...

Yes it is...
M$ better come up with a solution these coming months, it's not good when your discouraged from buying a console just because of it's faulty hardware. They really dropped the ball -___-Kritical_StrikeIt never hurt the fat PS2. Why would it hurt the 360?
Seems to me that Microsoft can alleviate lots of the RROD problems by just fastening a better clamp on the heatsink of the GPU. Lots of people have solved their RROD problems that way and it seems to be a pretty cheap solution at the manufacturing level.thinicerActually I've heard that the new Heatsinks make the heating problem even worse. I saw it on wikipedia and it does have a citation. (edit) Sorry I miss quoted you, you were talking about the clamps of the heatsink. I though you were talking about the new larger heatsinks.
