a 299 gaming pc is really really really stretching things thin, im sure it could be done but youd have to be pretty tech savy to come up with a rig capable of running games decently
ummm at that price tag? i rather get a ps3 instead.OPuniversesure thing. therefore Ps3 scapes away from competing directly with PC! thats good
Since they are game consoles it all depends on the games. As far as myself I prefer- Halo> Killzone Gears of War >Resistance Forza > GT Mass Effect> Demon Soul Splinter Cell a better stealth game > Then MGS Fable> ValkryiaChronicles ( Sorry not many wrpg for PS3 to compare ) I could mention others but I prefer those games over the PS3 ones. They both have good games but I think the 360 games are better so not reason for me to ever choose the PS3 over the 360.CanYouDigltwhy thats a mighty OPINION you have there. Since when did PC's become 360s. W/E im goin to bed this is hurting my head.
it could be done maybe, but its very difficult at 299. maybe recycled parts but thats cheatinga 299 gaming pc is really really really stretching things thin, im sure it could be done but youd have to be pretty tech savy to come up with a rig capable of running games decently

They're talking about the PC. And I suggest you put the fanboy cloak on more tightly, its too revealing.

I was pointing out that it is my opinion. I also think it all depends on the games for each person. Games is what matters most. umm, have you play those ps3 games? or are you just pulling that stuff out of thin air. You cant judge which one is better unless you have actually play the games on the other console.
that would be extremely hard to do. However....this is theoretical...unless you don't actualy intend to play any games on PS3 or PC. Because considering that PS3 games retail for about 25-30 dollars more than PC ones here in Europe, the "cheapness" of PS3 seems more like a clever con designed to lure you into overpaying each time you buy a game, ultimately making you pay a lot more than PC costed
yes only that for most PC gamers. RETAIL is a word out of their dictionary. the word for them is PIRATEBAY, not retail.that would be extremely hard to do. Console gamers don't have to buy games. Gamefly is $20/month...that would be extremely hard to do. However....this is theoretical...unless you don't actualy intend to play any games on PS3 or PC. why would you bother?
the PC is the premium gaming system and as such if you are serious about getting the best possible gaming experience, you must be prepared to pay for the priveledge.
If you can't afford the premium system then by all means only get a console, but don't try to compare them.
A Ford Mondeo and a Lamborghini both have four wheels and steering wheel, and both use the same road but I know which one I would rather be driving.

forgot to add the ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820159015 just an extra $24.
total is $303 before the mail-in rebates... Obviously its not a top of the line pc but it can run crysis on high with good frame rates. I would take this over the ps3 any day.
Obviously with $200 more I can make a pc ten times this one.

Indeed, But I would rather have the Ford... Just Imagine the insurance cost of having a Lamborghini. jk
Lets try it and see how those hermkids scrabble with a response. ***Notice how most of the over zealous vehement ones go in the opposite direction of the price debacle, including high-end parts just to argue the "Value" game. Never mind the fact that most users don't even USE a fraction of what the PC is capable of*** 1. BD-ROM- $100 2. 9600GT- $75 3. AMD Phenom X2 - $65 4. AM2+ class Mainboard - $65 (already over budget) 5. 1GB of DDR800- $20 6. Case - $30 7. XP OEM - $89 Total: $444 Did I miss something?Vadamee

The sake of wanting to look back some day and replay that game, long after you've stopped subscribing to gamefly.

Conversely, a Ford Mondeo is infinitely more useful to a soccer mom who needs to haul around her kids than some cup-holderless Lamborghini LP-640... This why this why the whole "Value" B/S is redundant and varies from person to person. Comparing consoles to the PC in this regard is fair to none of them.why would you bother?

The sake of wanting to look back some day and replay that game, long after you've stopped subscribing to gamefly.PSdual_wielderThis is called a moot point... Unless you can see into Gamefly Corp's future and conclude that they will not exist anymore then you have no argument. Again the company mantra is that you can keep any 2 games for as long as you want as long as you pay the $20/month... Its no different from owning the game at $60, the only downside is if you try and resale said game which would then be stealing.
Well a $299 PS3 will let me play all current PS3 titles & upcoming ones..
But i have to admit if someone can build me a nice gaming PC at $299 which can play games released in the past 2 yrs + upcoming titles at descent Settings/visuals & frame rate, i'd be happy to get a gaming PC..
However a $299 budget for gaming PC surely is USELESS for today's games..
yes? thats a pretty **** PC. 303$ but you still need RAM and OS. add 150 $ =453 =PS3299>PCThere

Ram is just $24 as i showed you and this pc has a 500gb hard drive as a luxury anyways. For the OS ,you can just use linux for free. Obviously if your invested $299 for a pc a $150 os is not a practical idea.
thats what ive been telling the PC fans. but they kept insisting that people should buy 400 'PC instead of Ps3. no way.why would you bother?

My rig is 400$ and I'm running Crysis on high, and what do I get:
-Mods
-Free dlc
-Free map packs
-Better online
-10$ cheaper games AND Steam and Impulse weekend sales on both new and old games, not to mention games go down much faster in price when compared to console games
-Better games (objectively, it has the most AAA/AA this gen, just like every gen)
-Better controls, don't want KB+M? plug in a controller
-You get a gaming AND a multimedia system
-DD
-Better graphics
Tell me when the PS3 has that ^^^. I can put in 200$ more and I'd have a killer rig.
