[QUOTE="TheFadeForever"]One can assemble a PC with Radeon HD 7850 for around $400 and that's with large chip size AMD Piledriver. Around Q4 2013, AMD Volcanic Island GPU range replaces AMD's Southern/Sea Island PC GPU range. If sony doesn't want to take a loss on the PS4 I don't think there are going to sell it at 400 dollars. Console are sold at a loss and are made up by licensing of their platform.

What about the GDDR5 that doesn't come cheap

Please disclose your wholesale price for GDDR5. I have a 2011 era GDDR5 price list.
For 2011 era GDDR5 price, refer to http://www.abload.de/img/gpuq3280ufv.png
$18.45 per 1024 MB or $129.15 for 7 GB GDDR5 (at 2011 prices).
I have already posted my estimated cost for Radeon HD 7850 retail (includes 256bit wired PCB and 1 GB GDDR5) + 7 GB GDDR5 + AMD Jaguar 8X (from AMD Bobcat based APU). Sony wouldn't pay for AMD Piledriver CPU cost since PS4 uses the tiny chip size AMD Jaguar CPU designs.
