About 100 of them. I'd name them all, but I have **** around the house I have to do today. Just because the music is orchestrated, and is played well by musicians, doesn't make it a good game soundtrack. There is a difference between having cool music, and having cool music that fits with the game. The best example I can find to support this, is Shadow of the Colossus. The music is used sparingly and contextually with the game sequences, it isn't put in all the time, and just for the sake of having it there.

The Halo soundtracks are decent, but I'll be damned if they ever will be "the best."

Exactly, and Halo was always praised for having music that kicked in at the right time and set the perfect atmosphere.

Remember playing the Silent Cartographer when you have to go underground to find the map. Then when you find it, its a race to get back to the evacuation point on top with the covenant overwhelming you and thats when the guitar kicks in, it was epic. Or in 343 Guilty Spark when the really eerie music kicks in, and you know something is not right. Then the flood comes out of nowhere for the first time and it completely freaks you out. Or on the The Two Betrayals when youre approaching an opening and what I like to think as the floods theme kicks in and theres a huge battle going on between the flood and covenant that you can either sit and watch or join in on.

A more recent example would be ODST, when youre wandering around the city alone, the music sets the atmosphere perfectly.
