[QUOTE="lowe0"]Eh, I've dealt with it before when it made sense to (my Mass Effect save predated my Surround setup, so I stuck with PC on that one), but in this case, it was cheap enough not to worry about. If I deserve criticism, it's for preordering instead of waiting to see what the developers did.R4gn4r0k

So the developers fixed the multi monitor issue ?

No. What I meant is that the devs made some statements about extended resolution support; I should have waited to see how that played out.

[QUOTE="lowe0"]

That's an unofficial fix. I appreciate their work, but I'd rather not run some random person's code.

lowe0

*facepalm*

No, don't use some random's guys code. Clearly spending another 60 dollars for a version that lacks way more than just multi-monitor support is the right thing to do.

$25, actually; I mentioned several pages back that it was on sale. And aside from multi monitor support, I really don't find console versions in general to be all that lacking(can't specifically comment on Dishonored until I play it later).

Well Steam is becoming the only choice besides MMO's. The measure of whether PC gaming is "dying" is to measure the differential between Steam and other sectors like physical sales, MMO's, Facebook games, etc. Last I heard Zynga was in trouble financially, WoW is de-populating and physcial sales are down down. Also I'm not sure how simply having a Steam account proves "growth." Getting an account is free and many people create multiples. Personally I think 50 million Steam users is shockingly low when the PS3 hack affected 70 million accounts and that was how many years ago.

First of all,Zynga never was part of the gaming sector of the PC market so it´s irrelevant really, their demise is actually a good thing, secondly,WoW isn´t losing any steam,it went over 10 million monthly subs last month again, and even if it was half oor less of that it would still make more money than pretty much any videogame every year, and finally, all those hacked sony accounts included everything sony, such as PC sony titles wich make a considerable number of all of those, the PS3 doesn´t have 70 million psn accounts,in fact.it has sold 70M units as of last week´s report,so unless you want to argue that every single person that owns a PS3 has it connected online, try again. Also,6 million concurrent users is massive, the xbox live record is freaking 2.6M on the week of a CoD launch,so not even close.

Last time I told people "Facebook doesn't count" I got alot of flak for it. I think right now there's just Steam and Blizzard. The rest is on life support. But don't let me rain on your parade, if you're enjoying yourself with a particular system that's all that matters.

Nope and nope. In fact, PC gaming had a marked growth for 2011, bringing in 18.6 billion, which accounted for a 15% growth over 2010 (link).

Growth is growth. If PC gaming becomes more relevant due to it, then that's fine. Nothing wrong with "gateway gaming".

I feel more like it's co-existing. Facebook/F2P were very small markets that have grown. However, they target an entirely different market.

Casual is increasing across the board because it sells. Hell, just look at NPD genre breakdowns. "Family Entertainment" and "Casual" are taking up 15%, and it's a relatively new market for consoles (at it's current market point).

Tribes Ascend,Hawken,Planetside 2(just to mention 2012 games)are not core games?

They are,in fact, the defenition of core games,so your argument is quite frankly, pathetic. Long gone are the times where F2P games mean little flash games and that sort of thing, now you have AAA quality F2P games, wich are most certainly core games. Or you want to argue that something like Battlefield 2 isn´t a core game?

As far as MMO´s(of any description)go,in what universe aren´t they core games? Because on the Sol system they certainly are.

And aside from multi monitor support, I really don't find console versions in general to be all that lacking (can't specifically comment on Dishonored until I play it later).

lowe0

Let's list all the things each version is lacking in shall we:

Dishonored PC:

-No multi monitor support

Dishonored 360:

-No multi monitor support
-Lower resolution
-Longer load times
-Lower resolution textures, worse lighting, worse looking overall
-Worse controls, less control methods, less hotkeys

And aside from multi monitor support, I really don't find console versions in general to be all that lacking (can't specifically comment on Dishonored until I play it later).

Let's list all the things each version is lacking in shall we:

Dishonored PC:

-No multi monitor support

Dishonored 360:

-No multi monitor support
-Lower resolution
-Longer load times
-Lower resolution textures, worse lighting, worse looking overall
-Worse controls, less control methods, less hotkeys

From the spot I'll be sitting, 1080p and 720p are indistinguishable. After a hard drive install, the load times shouldn't be bad at all. I have no problem with how other recent console games have looked, so I doubt those things will bother me. And finally, I actually prefer a gamepad to a mouse and keyboard. So really, I don't find it lacking at all. Others may disagree, as is their prerogative.

Why is every anti-PC person a huge troll instead of a regular debater

Jankarcop

Because they don't actualyl have anything. All they can resort to is stupid sh!t, as any means of proper discussion doesn't last long before they're debunked. All Lowe0 had going for him was his tact and thise thread shows that's completely gone out the window. All zombiekiller has are claims about steam being bad and if someone counteracts that he turns into a rabid troll.

Then why in all fairness did you even buy a PC? Seen as everything you seem to "prefer" is geared solely towards consoles. Seems like a waste of money to me. Especially a PC that has 2 monitors, your words not mine.

Again, you're full of sh!t and a hypocrite

This isn't about agreeing or disagreeing. I'm factually stating what the two versions are lacking in.

Stop making excuses. Why did you even buy the PC version in the first place ? Because you wanted to play on a multi monitor support ? BS, there is a fix for that and you won't use it.

So enlighten us.

edit: also if you don't care about graphics. Why did you buy such a tricked out PC in the first place ?
