Just 2 weeks to go 'till the North American launch. Also...
in SM3DL you will have the option for a "Pop-out" 3D effect or a "Depth" 3D effect.

wow this is cool. Can't wait though
Yeah I noticed that while playing the demo. The pop out effect really makes the character models look solidJust 2 weeks to go 'till the North American launch. Also...

I think I will choose Depth 3D effect because I think a Platformer would benefit from the added Depth of 3D.Just 2 weeks to go 'till the North American launch. Also...

We're playing with power now! Nintendo Power's review is in for SM3DL. They gave it a 9.
Some pro/cons
Super Mario 3D Land: 9/10
+Different and great styIes of Mario platforming for everyone
+Great 3D
-More advanced moves (long jump, somersaults) are completely optional.
-Not very creative
Overall: "A true triple-A title...Natural evolution of the series...Not as much content as Galaxies but still tons..Blows away all of the previous handheld Marios."
(Thanks to laus_basic)
Also we have a video playthrough of all of the first world.

-Uuuhhh....ok? I don't see a problem there.
-Not very creative? /myheadisfullof****. It looks just as creative as the Galaxy games, and better in some parts just from the videos.

Don't see the problem with the moves thing, most games are like that. But Mario has lacked creativity for a long while and the whole Plains, haunted mansion, tropical, forest etc world thing they have going on got old years ago.
When I get my 3ds December I'll be getting OoT remake, This Game, and Mario Kart 7.
I have room for two more games, anybody have any recommondation for me to get/wait for (not a fan of the MH series though)
Slashless
Nano Assault! Sonic Generations also. Check out James Noir's Hollywood Crimes too. The new Spyro: Skylander's Adventure looks really great. Spiderman Edge of Time is pretty decent and Shinobi looks like it might be solid too.

The galaxy games sure as hell didn't lack creativity with it's levels. Although I suppose this game does because it doesn't have the whole Space theme going for it.[QUOTE="Jolt_counter119"]

It's basically a more linear Mario 64 but instead of grass and land they just added space everywhere and seperated segments with shooting stars. Same tropical, ice, fire, haunted mansion, plains level design which probably disapointed me the most about the games.

Super Mario 3D Land is now out in Japan. So expect more news and maybe some reviews. Plus it seems that the game doesn't have an instruction manual for the Japanese version.

Europe gets the first Super Mario 3D Land Bundle with a Ice White 3DS and a copy SM3DL. Comes out Nov 18.
I'm kinda surprise it isn't the red 3DS.
ChubbyGuy40
First they get Steelbook BF3 copies, and now this!? Damn Europe getting all the cool stuff...
No kidding! I bought a limited bundle of Mario Kart: Double Dash and Zelda Collector's Edition for the Gamecube and that only was released in Europe. It got an 8 but... I am confused... the guy had NOTHING BUT PRAISE in the video review what were the negatives?fueled-systemThey're doing it so they claim they aren't biased when they give Skyward Sword a 10:P
An 8.0 .. seriously?! .. I thought it would score higher .. I don't see a lot of negatives to warrent an 8 :? .. Anyway, it is a flop but a must buy for any 3DS owner since I believe the game is going to be great :D
A great score for a great game. I want to get my hands on this gem ASAP!
Why don't I own a 3DS!
Welcome to SW where a score of 8 if of course seen as a bad thing. Guys the review scale doesn't start at a 7 lolcarlisledavid79read the review he had NOTHING BUT PRAISE and the only complaints are about two things many people dont even care about An 8 is a great score but from watching and reading you would think the score was a 9.5 actually
lol wtf the GS review didn't care for 3D in this game
The game is built specifically to make use of the stereo 3D effect. I have downloaded several screens and the two trailers on 3DS, the 3D is phenomenal in this game based on that.
So it floped huh, lets hope that zelda doesnt have a similar faith but the way how things are going i wouldnt be surprise
I hope it does flop on here. The reaction would be hilarious. So it floped huh, lets hope that zelda doesnt have a similar faith but the way how things are going i wouldnt be surprise

The reviewers opinion reflects the score, it's one persons opinion they thought it was great. In the grand scheme of things people arent going to say "wait up what did gamespot score "x" game? Only an 8? not gonna buy it"
So it's up to Mario Kart to deliver a game for the 3DS that didn't fop after all...? Seriously, what is it with Gamespot and the 3DS? Ocarina 3D, Star Fox 3D and Mario 3D Land have all flopped. Let's hope Mario Kart 7 does better.charizard1605
Yeah, two remakes didn't score AAA - Gamespot clearly has something against the 3DS!
A flop =o
I'll get it when I buy a 3DS, though the last footage I saw made it look like just another Mario game...not that that's a bad thing.
Slashkice
It's not the next SMG, I see it as a solid platformer that is supposed to showcase the 3D effect well. It also has a unique direction compared to other Mario games, it has less focus on exploration and is more fast paced.
I predicted 8.5 way back, I think people voted 9 and above just because it's Mario.

Mario Kart is amazing on handhelds and if the online and its new features work out, MK will easily be 3DS' 2011 game.
Not just 3DS, Pokemon B/W got 7.5, which is literally the lowest score on MC lol! I thought gen 5 was incredible, like, on par with gen 2.
