Super Mario 3D Land -Hype Thread- (56K) Flop In Three Dimensions! Out Now!

In all honesty and as big as a Mario fan as I am, I am not surprised. This game never looked up to the standards of most other Mario games. I'll still buy and play it, but I don't expect too much from the game based on what I have seen.

I have never taken a single reviewers score seriously, I look at metacritic. But this review is like me saying that MW3 is the greatest cod of all time, but I dont like the community..7 the reviewer did not give reason for the 8fueled-system

Then why are you complaining? If you don't care about review scores, then this shouldn't bother you.

If Sonic Generations for the 3DS gets a higher score or the same, I will laugh so hard.

I never said you stated that 8=garbage. That was just a general statement about SW.

To me it does. The 3D effect is not "meh". In that case he thinks 3D sucks in general.

Audrey from IGN: "The company actually delivered. 3D gaming has never been fully realized before this."

Nintendo built this game with 3D in mind, meaning the level design, camera angle and such are all optimised to give the best 3D effect possible while still playable in 2D mode. Assuming ofc, because it's incredible compared to other 3DS games.

Game Informer has just given it a 9.5 and Nintendo Life gives it a 9 as well.

looks like the 3ds winter extravaganza is off to a rocky start. Hopefully Mario Kart doesn't get sucked into the year of the flops. And I don't really have much hope for Kid Icarus and Luigis Mansion 2 to get AAA.

Well if you read the review the game is more than decent, he does give it alot of praise.I think people are overacting a bit to the score. IGN and Game Informer both gave it 9.5 so i'm guessing its a decent game.On GS 8.0= Great.

If i were Nintendo i'd be more worried if the game didnt sell well than it scoring 8.0 on GS. Again, 8.0 is a great score. It scored higher at other places too so i wouldnt panic just yet :P

Lots of reviews just popped up on Metacritic. As of right now, SM3DL has a 90 after 14 reviews.

By SW standards, sure, a flop is a rocky start for all who care.

But really, this game is getting unanimously glowing reviews so far, even the flop review here seems to have only two or three minor quibbles with the game. That's a pretty great start if you ask me.
