It was time today to really dig in my SNES backlog starting with Secret of Mana. I discovered that the companion AI can be set to different positions, and that helps alleviate the broken AI problem. Still not a big fan of that combat system, tho i've gotten used to it.

Overall, the gorgeous artstyle, brilliant soundtrack, relatively interesting plot and funny little tidbits here and there make for a enjoyable experience. Pretty great game, i'll stick with it until i finish it, then move on to either Dragon Quest III (SNES remake of the original NES game) or Super Mario World.

How can Scrubs be so funny, yet have so many feels?

One of the best Sitcoms ever apart from the last season.

So good. I do remember the last season, and it was pretty terrible.

Up to season 7... It's been years since I watched it, and I stopped around season 5 or so. They still get me in that manly tear way... The kind where you're watching something in a group, kinda grunt and ask if anybody wants anything as you scurry out of the room.

The last season would have been better if they didn't shoehorn JD into it for the first 5 episodes, once he left and they actually let the new characters have the spotlight it was pretty decent. They shouldn't have acted like it was the same show though, should have been a spin off.

Scrubs is great though, I love any sitcom that actually has proper emotional moments that make these larger than life characters suddenly seem real. The ending of My Lunch is the best example of how good Scrubs was at that.

I still need to watch it to remember fully, but was it that teaching season?

Seriously, My Lunch rocked it... The rabies patients all dying was brutal, especially with Cox's breakdown. The music choice is also crazy good.

Yeah it was the season set at a teaching hospital. The biggest problem with it was that there was no need for it, series 8 ended everything perfectly. But loads of American show seems to be 2-3 series too long so it's nothing new.

I'm starting to see that they overstay their welcome. Very few managed to break that. It's a shame, considering how Scrubs stayed excellent through seasons 1-8.

When Lily kills Carley. That is one of the rare times a game made me jump and panic because it just came out of nowhere like a punch to the gut.

Yea, I played 400 Days, it was ok. I really want to play Season 2

Ladies and gentlemen, the worst suggestion for Nintendo to advertise the Wii U EVER!

Okay, just to get this out of the way, I don't hate Eminem as a rapper. He made a few songs I liked (Lose Yourself being my favorite from him) and several songs I disliked (Just Lose It and Ass Like That). But seriously, him for advertising the Wii U? I mean, I buy the fact that he's a Nintendo fan (Super Mario Bros. was referenced in the music video for Rap God), but I just don't see how he would mix with advertising Nintendo products compared to when Activision got him for CoD advertisements.

Ahh, yeah, that one shocked the **** out of me. I was drinking some water and nearly spit it out, it was so sudden. That scene had a great reflection in 400 Days though. One of my favorite things about 400 Days is how the characters don't seem destined for a novel-length story like Lee and Clementine; they're just there with this incredibly shitty thing happening to them.

And agree, second season looks fucking dope with Clementine as the protagonist. It's even more interesting how she's kind of an asshole and we, as players of season one, get to know the exact reasons why she's an asshole. Just a shame I have to wait for Telltale to release another botched Vita version.

pretty hard to debate against shawshank. i think it might be the greatest film ever produced.

"I'll cast you down with the sodomites. you'll think you've been bleeped by a train"! - Warden

haha, some classic lines. great film.

speaking of films, i watched Star Trek: First Contact.

not really into star trek lore but i do like sci fi, this film was really enjoyable. good special effects and presentation throughout. Patrick Stewart is a pretty awesome actor no matter what he does, and his portrayal of the normally cool collected Picard up against his previous captors the borg collective is fierce and believable. the borg queen is played very well also, as is the dude playing Zefran Cochram (same guy that plays George HW Bush in Bush).

some really classic dialog as well "Do you always talk this much", "Not always, but ... often" hahaha, I cracked up.

i'd give first contact about 8/10. recommend sci fi viewing.

Where you been?

Hiya Phazon :D :D

Well, college started about four or five months back, so I rarely get the time to come online. Plus the new GS layout kinda blows so I decided I wouldn't bother.

That lasted long. :P

About a fourth of my way into the second season of Arrested Development. Holy shit, this might be the greatest comedy show of all time.

The last season is pretty meh, but seriously other than that, funniest show of all time except maybe Archer and The League are up there too.

The count of the monte cristo is a masterpiece.

Best movie to ever exist.

I'd have to give that to Aliens or Alien, way ahead of their time and sadly look better than most CGI films now and days which is sad. But if we're gonna say personal fav movies of all time, I have to give mad props to Zombieland, still my fav movie to this day.

yeah. alien/aliens are dominating films. i'm tempted to reconsider my choice of shawshank as number 1. hard to choose a god among gods.

sometimes the use of cgi in live action films can be obvious and i find that distracting. i'm a bit of a puritan, build the alien model, make sloppy alien goo, slop it all over the place, then film it.

I'm gonna say that Archer is one of the funniest animated series to come out in a VERY long time. Usually around the fifth year or so is the mark when shows start to go stale, but the creators went balls out by

SPOILER ALERT for those who haven't started season 5 yet:

Totally revamping things by taking the whole spy concept, gutting it, and throwing it out the window. Turning the former agents of ISIS into a startup drug cartel while keeping the characters the same is a helluva way to make things fresh--and it works.

It's one of the few shows I make an effort to watch every week.

Archer is one of the few shows I'll actually buy on DvD, $20 a season is almost a steal for that series. Wish I had FX so I could start watching season 5 as it's show on TV :/

This current season is too good to wait until the DVD release. If you don't have FX, I say get it on iTunes or a similar service, if you can. They even have the episode that aired tonight there as well.

@lundy86_4: So I got my BLM to 50 (gonna use him as my off class dps when I'm bored tanking) and the only class/job I don't have at 50 (not counting hand/land jobs) is a WHM which I only cared to get to 34 for stoneskin for my PLD. Ironically my BLM is already geared lol except for meh rings which I'm just using to convert into materia, I had a Titan HM weapon waiting for him in my bank which helped out greatly.

Nice. I'm so far away from that, it isn't funny. I seriously need to get Stoneskin, as it's ridiculously good.

It must be nice avoiding gearing at lvl 50.
